The Timekeeper, 2025. A dynamic 1/1 that changes every single day for the next 115 years, until 2140.

The Timekeeper is the evolution of my work on ordinals, recursively using traits from The Astronomer’s Daughter, but with some new additions to make the piece astronomically accurate. Enter all new moons, and 3 new constellations: Corvus, Orion, and Auriga.

Positioned from UTC time & location, The Timekeeper will go through over 42,000 changes until its completion. We will all be 😵 by the time it’s finished. Maybe your grandkids will figure out what’s hidden at the end… Here’s a Timelapse of what the first 100 days looks like:

If you’re unfamiliar with TAD, all of the traits signify different aspects of astrological time to “stamp” each selected date. However with The Timekeeper, every day is accounted for. Here’s a breakdown of a random day when both of us will be much older from The Timekeeper:

@bernardo_cafe This is even more INSANE than I imagined after we talked. You should be immensely proud of yourself. Thinking about legacy is one thing but creating something that will outlive you is unique because most don’t ever take that leap.

@bernardo_cafe Stop I’m sobbing 🥹🥹🥹 thank you, this is so sweet. I can’t lie I definitely broke down a few times when I was making this. As the years rolled on and I realized my cat would be gone, then my parents, then me… it felt existential but also made me appreciate the work even more.
