the trick to building this was building a web-based simulator first 🌱

100%. To test and preview the animations on my @M5Stack #M5Dial Codex keyboard project, my Agent built a web app. Critical here was the fact that the frames were still generated by the C++ code. No separate JavaScript version.

@M5Stack this looks cool - is that an actual dial?

@M5Stack Yep, programmed as a keyboard (HID). Dial and clicks generate actual keypresses. Just plug it in, it’s a keyboard. (Some work to get to this point with older models.)

@M5Stack wow this is great! thanks for sharing. so many options online to discover! this could have some super fun applications

woah, reminds me of childhood super neat to see something similar on an ESP32-S3 form factor

What's the URL?

for the simulator? right here ↓ i've not been sharing the links out because i need to fix my open graph images 🙃

Ohhh I see thanks!

I recognize a Noita fan when I see one

had to google that one, reviews look real good, will add to my wishlist 🙏

I'll give it to you if you show me how to build cool shit like this That thing is a time sink however

haha i bet it is! anything with "Overwhelmingly Positive" usually makes it into the wishlist haha

Reminds me of Noita.

few people have said this, so that's gone on my steam wishlist 😁 hadn't heard of it before

It's fun. The acid and spark effects (how it spreads; rising smoke and all) look almost identical. Interested to see your reaction when you play it.

i'm keepin' an eye out for it in the next steam sale 🤓

Really awesome, it reminds me of Noita with the particle interactions. I've been looking for something like this, how's the ESP32-S3 been for you? Would you recommend it?

definitely recommend 💯 think i'm gonna have to pick up this game after everyone mentioning it ha wrt the board, definitely do research on what you think you might need/want from it. there are a lot of options out there!

Very @kotsoft vibe 🙌

Would go well with the samsung galaxy watch

Awesome...

You could do a version of this for sand art and give people patterns to fill and it’d be the next sudoku

ooo - that's a fun idea some kind of spin on a physics puzzle of sorts 🤔

Yeah I’m thinking particle tetris but filling in preset patterns with different colors and granule sizes, would start with a standard glass jar as the vessel but then you could add different vessel shapes to make it more progressively challenging

noita?

i am going to buy this game 💯 so many people have said this, and i had never seen it on steam and i love a roguelike! 🙏 do you play it?

yessssssssss it's one of the best games I've ever played. very hard though be ready to die a lot

But what's the point of learning all this anymore. That shitty and crappy AI is gonna take away all the jobs anyways !!

build the sim before the real thing, debug in safety, then migrate. same order every time

simulator first is the move tbh, way faster iteration than testing live

Got intrigued and bought it too, can't wait to build cool things with him, maybe even integrating it with my home assistant setup 🤔

Nifty.

Does it run locally or just streams data?

a web based powder toy clone would be nice.

Solid build!

that’s really cool!
