004/100 Buttons. A bit of the process on building an animation. When looking at a finished animation or in this example a finished button, it can look quite complex inside the CSS. But when building it, it’s more like a lot of simple steps, one after another. Here I had the idea to make some kind of text animation like the footer logo on the Osmo site. I try to add the base animation with no complex easing, for example transition: translate 0.4s ease. Starting with just moving the one text from bottom to top and the other text to top. Adding a stagger, play around with it. Searching for a way to make it more circular. On the research I found the sin() function inside CSS which can build a more smooth non linear curve for the stagger which creates this circular effect. And step by step adding more complexity like, different easing for hover/hover-out, opacity, 3D transform and more. I use also the sin() function to rotate the letters, so the middle ones are getting more rotated than the outer ones. Another thing which helps is to add a small delay on hover, for example 0.05s or 0.1s, you don’t really see the difference, but when you hover pretty fast on and out it doesn’t get that jumpy. I’m using here GSAP’s SplitText to split every char into spans. And then I’m adding a CSS index variable to every span, starting from the center. SplitText can provide CSS index variables, but you cannot tell it from which direction. For the sin() it’s also important to have a max length, so I add another CSS variable with the max char number on it. Crafting 100 Buttons with Osmo ⏳ Total time: 63h

1. No, we can't recreate a universally perfect liquid glass in Figma that will adapt to any UI on the background. 2. Yes, we can create a slightly fake version. The secret is to use 1 additional nested layer that will have 2 effects — blurring the background and deforming it. All additional lighting effects should be used on the main container where this background layer sits. These are my best numbers for it so far.

X’s in-app browser is cool, but it makes saving links via the share extension a real pain on mobile. (IYKYK.) We’ve solved this with a neat new trick. Now, when you save an X post to Matter that contains a URL, we ask if you want to save the link or the post. TLDR: If you want to save an article linked in a post, just save the post directly from your feed! You can thank Hunter for this clever, "obvious in retrospect" idea.

This one line of CSS will fix the annoying layout shift that scrollbars cause. This happens when a non-scrollable container becomes scrollable due to its content. This gets rid of that problem: .container { scrollbar-gutter: stable; } With that, space is reserved for the scrollbar before it even appears. So there's no layout shifts when content grows. Use both-edges if your content is centered. It mirrors the reserved space on both sides of the container to keep the layout balanced. If you found this one useful, follow for more. ❤️

Y'all know I don't post things just to start drama but things like this are frustrations and miscues you're seeing with the offense this year. I didn't see this on the broadcast but after a screen to Kittle, there's something off about what Deebo did. Kyle is up around the 40 to the right so Deebo is talking to someone else on the sideline, who's getting after him. I went back to the broadcast and this was Kyle's reaction right after this happened. Lip readers, what's Kyle saying? Pretty sure there's a word that starts with F in there.

BUT, if the front side groin is tight, the lead leg will just drag the pelvis open which is a much slower version of pelvic rotation To get around this, some guys land in a valgus position (Knee Caved in) on the front leg since you don’t need full Adductor Range of Motion to do this. And Some step across body which can also work around this. This Test / Exercise To see how your groin affects your pelvis, hold your knee out while performing this exercise. You will know immediately if this affects you or not! 👊

A production harness is a whole engineered system around the LLM, with its own context management, tools, sandboxing, and control flows. Porting that into a new training runtime can be expensive and could introduce train-test mismatch, where the policy is optimized against a simulated harness and then struggles in production. All you need to do is swap out the harness’ LLM response endpoint to one provided by AC2, and expose a lightweight protocol for AC2 to initiate and grade rollouts; the trainer handles the rest.

While I have premium I definitely want to do a long post breaking down the main scene from this show that I obsess with. There's so much that I feel could be learned from it. Not just for expansion animators either. There's honestly a LOT that can be learned from how this show directed its expansion scenes that can be applied to even safe for work animations. Obviously yes, the expansion alone is really good. What makes it so good though is just the fact that there's things you pick up on that you likely don't even realize until you re-watch. I'm using this scene as an example as it's not AS good I would say, but it still has a lot going for it. One thing I've always loved from it that I want to use in my own animations someday is that the expansion sort of comes in waves as opposed to one consistent growth. In a way, it makes it feel more natural while also selling how tight the top is getting. It could have been accompanied by showing the knot getting tighter or smaller with each growth. It's a small part of the animation but just that one thing already adds another layer to appreciate. It's not like most expansion scenes where there's very little outside of just "growing" on its own. There's a bunch of little things that subtly improve it without being obnoxious. The first expansion scene has WAY more that I want to talk about honestly. Far more than this one has. It will probably be a really long post now that I think about it...

When we play it live it’s had the best reaction I’ve ever had and it’s been requested almost daily since we first played it. It’s also the longest title ever! . I wrote it with a female co-harmony in mind and after a chance meeting at Isle of Wight Festival the amazing Swim School agreed to collaborate. Can I just say that Alice is one of the most creative, innovative performers I have ever met. We ended up with layer upon layer of her incredible vocals that completely dominate the song and take it to another level. What a band man. . . I can’t wait for you to hear it but you’ll need to wait until 30/8.
