Tokenized stocks trade individually, but markets still need benchmarks. Vaults groups them into sector vaults and calculates a live index price from the underlying constituents. The clearinghouse that settles most US securities says it's approaching a live demo of tokenized assets held at its Depository Trust Company, with the service due to go production-ready in the second half of 2026. First to be tokenized will be the Russell 1000 stocks, major ETFs, and US Treasuries, each sharing the same CUSIP and legal rights as their traditional forms. It will run on DTCC's own AppChain, Canton (Canton Network), and Stellar (Stellar). The back office of US finance is wiring into blockchain.
