Reheated Tory bottom of barrel scrapings from last 40yrs. Punch down, welfare and social cuts for the poor, equate hardwork to being rich, punch down more, hint of racism, tax cuts for the wealthy, make country poor to accelerate rate of pension increases, ‘tough of crime’.

Root cause of low economic growth is kleptocrats like her saying rich people pay too much tax, and the disabled and vulnerable should be punished for their ability/inability. £300+ billion PPE fraud, VIP lanes, crony contracts for bribes! Ring any fking bells Kemi?

She was in the last Tory Government that failed to fix anything and sent the economy down the pan with its ridiculous Brexit Referendum.

She has no argument. Burnham has played this tricky issue quite well so far.

It's a Ponzi scheme screwing over the youth. The Tories will never get my vote with this mind frame. Also that's their economic credibility down the drain with this appeasement to their only voter base.

Losing just one element of the triple lock but under Labour gain a free care service which avoids having to sell your actual home. Tough one

Very brave of Badenoch to openly admit to not understanding the triple lock.

Again her math ain’t mathing. Pensioners used to be supported by 5 workers, now that number is 3. There simply isn’t enough money being put into the system to make it sustainable and that was BEFORE the flawed triple lock was introduced.

Well someone tell this liar the root cause is Brexit combined with the misery of Tory misrule of the last 14 years

Something that people need to understand as well.

She didn't manage it when in power. But then they only had 14 years.

Those who attack the triple lock are simply not seeing the bigger picture:

The Tories are not a serious party. Proposing child benefits for £100k+ earners & advocating more welfare spend, all while keeping tax thresholds frozen at £12k and slapping 50%+ marginal rates at £50k. Disgusting math. Why on earth would any ordinary worker ever vote for this?

No. Triple lock is now past it's utility. Public sector pensions are too generous, which is why they all retire by mid-50s. Some policies are impossible to undo, because doing so loses votes.

Peak hypocrisy from a party that were too spineless to broach the issue themselves because they might lose votes.

How can a party leader be so misinformed?

This is the Ken thing I disagree with her over …it’s over generous. But they’ve obviously done the electoral math. As has Burnham obvs

Labour will get hammered if they try to scrap it and rightly so.

I'm a pensioner - not a wealthy one -and I support what Burnham said. I'm quite content to have at least an increase in line with inflation and try and sort out social care. The latter is very important and needs addressing urgently.
