The Russian escalation in Ukraine is a sign of desperation. Russia is losing ground on the battlefield, has failed at dividing Europeans and is revealed to be a losing sponsor in the Middle-East, Africa or the Caucasus. Now is not the time to be intimidated or wither in our support for Ukraine. euronews

4,000 miles from Moscow is a Russia so calm, so peaceful on the surface. But like everywhere in Russia the war in Ukraine has left a mark here, too. Our report from Vladivostok. Thanks to the Moscow team.

Ukraine has taken the war to Russia. A massive Ukrainian drone attack has hit multiple sites across the Moscow region. No hyperbole: Moscow is burning.

Today is the 1,500th day since Russia launched its full-scale war against Ukraine. What Moscow expected to be a quick victory has turned into a long and costly failure. Instead of achieving its goals, Russia has only deepened its losses and isolation. The world has seen what Russia truly is: a terrorist state. The only answer to this is unity, sustained pressure, and continued defence support for Ukraine.

By some estimates, Russia has taken 1.5 million casualties in its war against Ukraine, including half a million killed since the war began. Now, as Russia runs out of recruits, it is bringing in mercenaries from far away. Special correspondent Simon Ostrovsky (Simon Ostrovsky) reports. A warning: Some images in this story are disturbing.

JUST IN: Lavrov has once again spotted a “losing Ukraine” — apparently to avoid looking at Russia Russia’s foreign minister claims Europe is “seriously mistaken” if it believes Moscow is losing the war. According to Lavrov, it is Ukraine — not Russia — that is currently on the losing side. That, he says, is exactly why Russia will not accept any ultimatums. The Kremlin continues to dismiss reality as an “illusion” — especially when it comes to the war, sanctions, mounting losses, and the price Russia has been paying for more than four years.

Members of the US Republican Congress are increasingly losing patience with Russia, but also Trump regarding Ukraine: Senator Thom Tillis: „Russia is really playing us like a piano right now.“ Senator Joni Ernst: „I think it is time to move on Russia sanctions. (…) Putin is playing him (Trump) right now.“ Congressman Don Bacon: „He (Trump) has been weak on Russia. He has been great on Iran, but he has been terrible on Russia.“
