What City's owners have attempted to get away with is the equivalent of an athlete insisting they can start the Olympics 100 metres final from 20 metres down the track - ahead of their fellow competitors. It says a lot about the lack of character when an organisation doubles down and tries to defend what appears to be a decade -long persistent fraud.
