Teachers from Connaught School for Girls were on strike for three weeks during a critical exam period for their students. This resulted in students counter-protesting and demanding that the teachers return to school. Now, I support the right for workers to strike. But look at this picket line. Keffiyehs and Palestinian flags. An all-girls school in London has nothing to do with Gaza or the Middle East. Why are these teachers choosing Palestine over their students?

UPDATE on the Pacific Palisades building permits, essentially NONE have been approved Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass say they’ve approved 40+ building permits but developer says he’s researched it and that’s a lie. They’re just regular work permits, not rebuilding permits “I wanted to give everybody an update on how fire rebuild permitting is going in Pacific Palisades and Altadena. We just got back our first set of corrections from LA county on a building plan that we submitted in Altadena and It took about 45 days. LA county is great in the sense that they are fully transparent. They have a real time dashboard that you can go online and see exactly how many plans have been submitted, how many permits have been issued, and the average time it's taking to issue those permits in la. I don't think a single rebuild permit has been approved yet. Karen Bass and the media would have you think that over 40 have been issued, but these aren't rebuild permits. These are just regular work permits. So LA is moving extremely slowly. There's no transparency whatsoever. And right now some of my architects are estimating a six month approval, which people need to understand equates to about $20,000 in property taxes just to hold the property for that long with nothing on it. So LA needs to pick it up. Karen Bass needs to wrap up these riots and get back on duty here in Pacific Palisades.” - As of March 21, 2025, the city of Los Angeles had only approved 3 permits for rebuilding and repairs - Today they say they’ve approved 68, but this developer says that’s misinformation as many are just work permits, not building permits

The Trump Admin issued a rule getting rid of automatic extensions of work permit renewals, meaning that folks who have done everything right and played by the rules could lose their ability to work legally while they wait for the government to issue their renewals. Businesses and our economy as a whole will suffer without these workers, making prices go UP. I’m headed to the Senate floor to force a vote and reverse this unfair rule now.

Supreme Court has said that the process of justice is now in the hands of the courts so doctors should resume their duties. Though I support justice for RG Kar victim, I stood by these protesting doctors too but now things are going a bit too far. I would request Hon'ble CM Mamata Banerjee di to now take a tough stand on these doctors. For a few, the whole can't suffer. It's time they realise this and return back to work. Two things that are BJP is targeting on this unfortunate incidents are •Lakshmir Bhandar •Health sector The health sector is because the Swasthya Sathi scheme is directly effecting the wealthy Doctors who are running private nursing homes and hospitals. #RGKARmedical #RGKarProtest #KolkataDoctor

An international student on a work permit which is going to expire soon blames Canada for the fact that she's going to have to leave despite the fact that no such guarantee is made to students or temporary workers. I should know because I came to Canada as an international student nearly 30 years ago. She and her friends are now exploring ways of how they can stay on in Canada, including applying for refugee status which will be tied up for years while their case is decided. Our immigration minister Marc Miller ᐅᑭᒫᐃᐧᐅᓃᐸᐄᐧᐤᐃᔨᐣ Mikotsikaa naively believes those whose permits are expiring are going to leave Canada voluntarily which is a joke. He should watch this video. The sense of entitlement of some of these people is astonishing. She doesn't have a legal right to stay on in Canada beyond the date her current permit expires and if she refuses to leave, she should be deported. These people are playing on white guilt, the easiest thing to exploit in Canada where people are generally naive and think everyone is well intentioned.
