Heroic Action on Hwy 36: On May 25, 2025, at 5:10 AM, Sgt. McKim stopped a driver who was traveling on the wrong side of Highway 36. The driver reached speeds of up to 110 mph at times, and several cars had to swerve to avoid a head-on collision. Thanks to her quick response, no one was hurt. The driver was arrested without incident and now faces charges including DUI, drug possession, and multiple traffic violations. Well done, Sgt. McKim! If you see a car driving on the wrong side of the road, pull over, stop at a safe location, and call 911 immediately. We’d also like to thank our partners at the Boulder Police Department for their assistance on this call. As in every criminal case, these charges are merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty.

#25DaysOfCoasters RCX Top 125 Rank Bonus Day 26: #1, 420 Feet Up On Top Of The World 1. Top Thrill 2 - Cedar Point Make: Intamin/Zamperla, Model: Accelerator/LSM Launch Opened: 2003/2024 Sometimes you have to be patient and wait for really good things to come. That was the definite case with Top Thrill 2. Just 8 days of operation in its 2024 opening year. However after much trial and error the first half of 2025, CePo got this thing running consistently to end up with over 70% up time on the year. There is only about 42 seconds of ride time on Top Thrill 2, however what is done in those 42 seconds packs in more elements, thrill (top thrills you might say) and action that coasters with 2-3 minutes of prime ride time accomplish. You start with your “baby launch” 0-74 mph, a “baby” launch that is still faster than any in my home state of Florida. It may not be a top hat roll back, but then you then get a half way up the top hat roll back, something that every thoosie clamored for on the original Top Thrill Dragster and Kingda Ka. Well now it’s officially part of the ride. Roll backwards into an unhinged launch up to 100 mph. The horizontal positive force in reverse going backwards is unmatched on any other ride or coaster out there. Flying by the station, up the 400 foot Spike into pure weightless bliss. The sustained weightlessness at the top of the Spike, especially in the back rows is also unmatched. Free fall back down the vertical angle with great flojector, giving you the sensation of a traditional coaster drop mid ride. Then speed up to your max 120 mph, the sense of speed is great all around, but in the front row, you just better hope it’s not mayfly season! I noticed that at the max speed, on the Silver Train it starts to rattle, but not in a way that takes away from the ride, just adds more force, which is also why I found Silver Train gives the most unhinged force on the spin down, we’ll get back to that soon though. That climb up 420 feet doesn’t have a ton of force but is mentally just thrilling. Then the top of the world, ejector airtime 420 feet up in air. I actually felt the best airtime here in the middle of the train, Row 4 to be exact. Then the angle as you descend stares you straight at the ground from the clouds. Until you hit the spiral it just looks like you’re about to freefall straight into the ground below the top hat. Then the spiral, some of the most intense lateral force ever. If you don’t brace yourself you may end up for more than you bargained for here. I thought I seriously injured my back as silly, carefree me had my hands up and let the forces take me wherever they desired. That launched me out of the right side of the train, the spiral ends and you get thrown back against your seat, except I was not against my seat so my spine got cracked, slammed half way down my back against the edge of the train/seat. I actually heard the crack. Thought I might be seriously injured as I exited the vehicle. Turns out it was just the adjustment I needed! Thanks for being a great chiropractor TT2! And thank you to Cedar Point, Intamin & Zamperla for giving us what I consider to be the greatest roller coaster on Earth!

There is only about 42 seconds of ride time on Top Thrill 2, however what is done in those 42 seconds packs in more elements, thrill (top thrills you might say) and action that coasters with 2-3 minutes of prime ride time accomplish. You start with your “baby launch” 0-74 mph, a “baby” launch that is still faster than any in my home state of Florida. It may not be a top hat roll back, but then you then get a half way up the top hat roll back, something that every thoosie clamored for on the original Top Thrill Dragster and Kingda Ka. Well now it’s officially part of the ride. Roll backwards into an unhinged launch up to 100 mph. The horizontal positive force in reverse going backwards is unmatched on any other ride or coaster out there. Flying by the station, up the 400 foot Spike into pure weightless bliss. The sustained weightlessness at the top of the Spike, especially in the back rows is also unmatched. Free fall back down the vertical angle with great flojector, giving you the sensation of a traditional coaster drop mid ride. Then speed up to your max 120 mph, the sense of speed is great all around, but in the front row, you just better hope it’s not mayfly season! I noticed that at the max speed, on the Silver Train it starts to rattle, but not in a way that takes away from the ride, just adds more force, which is also why I found Silver Train gives the most unhinged force on the spin down, we’ll get back to that soon though. That climb up 420 feet doesn’t have a ton of force but is mentally just thrilling. Then the top of the world, ejector airtime 420 feet up in air. I actually felt the best airtime here in the middle of the train, Row 4 to be exact. Then the angle as you descend stares you straight at the ground from the clouds. Until you hit the spiral it just looks like you’re about to freefall straight into the ground below the top hat. Then the spiral, some of the most intense lateral force ever. If you don’t brace yourself you may end up for more than you bargained for here. I thought I seriously injured my back as silly, carefree me had my hands up and let the forces take me wherever they desired. That launched me out of the right side of the train, the spiral ends and you get thrown back against your seat, except I was not against my seat so my spine got cracked, slammed half way down my back against the edge of the train/seat. I actually heard the crack. Thought I might be seriously injured as I exited the vehicle. Turns out it was just the adjustment I needed! Thanks for being a great chiropractor TT2! And thank you to Cedar Point, Intamin & Zamperla for giving us what I consider to be the greatest roller coaster on Earth!

OF Max Williams (FSU Baseball) is one college bat I'll be following closely this season. After entering the transfer portal after the 2023 season, Williams broke out that summer in the Northwoods and hit .316/.414/.505 with 21 2B and 5 HRs. Rode that momentum into 2024 and was one of Florida State's key bats. Posted a .311/.384/.582 11 2B, 4 3B, and 14 HRs. Strong, physical build at 6'2" and 207-lbs. Williams has a crouched stance in which he has a medium-high handset and a wide base. Minimal load in which his hands drift slightly. Doesn't stride and transfers his weight well. Really drives his back side/back knee. Plenty of present bat speed. Williams' carrying tool is without a doubt his power. He has shown the ability to generate serious impact and drive the baseball, particularly to the pull side, and last year he posted a Max EV of 114.2 MPH and a 90th-percentile EV of 109 MPH. Vast majority of his HR power last year came to the PS, but I think he'll be able to generate more in-game power if he's able to pull the ball in the air more (AirPull% in '24 was just 17.2%). Raw power is a 55 for me. Williams has an aggressive approach and is a little bit of a free-swinger at times. Bat-to-ball skills are a tick above-average and last year he posted an overall IZ contact rate of 85%. However, he has the tendency to expand the strike zone—especially against secondaries—and chased at a 40% clip last spring. Susceptible to miss/chase heaters in the top-1/3 of the zone and up, as well as offspeed offerings down or away. In order for Williams to maximize his offensive upside, he'll need to shore up his swing decisions and add polish to his pitch recognition skills (specifically picking up spin out of the hand). 45 hit right now. Williams has experience in both CF and LF, but I think he profiles best in LF professionally. He's got solid range and is an average runner with an average arm. First drive & impressions of FSD 14.2 in South Central Texas. I just received the update on my 2025 Model 3 & went out to test it on some areas where FSD has had difficulties in previous versions including the previous FSD 14.1.7 and also to get overall impressions. Overall, it did well over about 45 miles of driving on rural highways, congested areas with lots of traffic, construction, grocery store busy parking lots & rural post office destinations. Although in general it did very well in a variety of situations, a few stood out that I want to highlight where I did have disconnects & unusual behaviors that seem to have been introduced with FSD 14.2. Summary of Strengths: Smooth, confident most of the time, and polished. Felt comfortable at all times while FSD was driving the car. This includes all of the driver settings (Sloth, Chill, Standard, Hurry & Mad Max) Opportunities & areas with challenges: - Navigation database mismatches really becoming a glaring deficiency with the approach Tesla AI is using, not just because of recent or ongoing construction, but also with established routes, roads & destinations - FSD 14.2 stopped unexpectedly at a gas station that was not part of the route or any destination in the route. After parking, I tapped the Start Self Driving button and the car resumed as if it was starting at an intermediate stopping point & it continued on to the original destination. - A second strange Navigation challenge happened when arriving at my home. For no apparent reason, it tried to go to my neighbors house … something no previous FSD version has done. Very strange. - Construction prevented FSD from entering into the selected grocery store entrance, but instead of taking several obvious nearby detour routes or doing a U-turn, it re-mapped the route & drove a few miles past the grocery store & into a residential area, did a turn around & then rerouted all the way back to the grocery store. This was several miles of added driving & passed numerous paths that were much closer & available. - Parking in angled parking spaces continues to be a big challenge for FSD 14.2 … it took up two parking spaces & at an odd angle when parking at a rural Post Office, disregarding the painted signs & angled marks on the parking spaces & the sign posts for the parking spaces. It also attempted to drive the wrong way in the one-way parking area. - Speed profiles seem a bit better, but speeding, especially in my neighborhood area is still excessive. For some reason, a posted 25 mph section showed a 65 mph speed sign on the MCU display & FSD tried to drive to that speed. This might be related to navigation databases mismatches issues mentioned earlier. In summary, I think Tesla FSD 14.2 shows some promising signs of progress, but still has several areas that need additional work, the biggest of which is the navigation databases mismatch issues. I’d like to see some way for owners to provide inputs to the FSD team to provide navigation map updates that can help fix these issues. Also, having a way to “train” FSD in specific areas, say at your home so it knows how to properly enter the driveway, back into the garage, select which side of the garage, etc… would be very helpful.
