In a major boost for Ukraine’s defense industry, BAE Systems has signed an agreement with an undisclosed Ukrainian defense company to begin licensed production of the British L119 105 mm light towed howitzer inside Ukraine. The agreement was signed during the Farnborough International Airshow in the United Kingdom and marks another step toward expanding Ukraine’s domestic weapons manufacturing capabilities. According to Defence Express, the deal also grants the Ukrainian side the right to modify the L119’s design to better suit the operational requirements of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, giving Kyiv greater flexibility than a standard licensed production agreement. The L119 weighs just 1,936 kg and has a maximum firing range of 19 kilometers. Russia Showcases the “Pantsir-SMDE” Air Defense System at Dubai Airshow 🇷🇺Russia unveiled the very short-range air defense system “Pantsir-SMDE” during its participation in the Dubai Airshow 2025, revealing a new generation of tactical systems designed to counter modern aerial threats. 🔹The system was developed to protect small military, industrial, and administrative facilities, in addition to vital sites, from attacks by drones, cruise missiles, and smart munitions. The system features advanced combat capabilities, including: 🔹Engaging multiple targets simultaneously. Using two types of missiles: — TKB-105B, short-range (7 km range, 5 km altitude). — 57E6-E, with a range of up to 20 km and an altitude of up to 15 km. Intercepting targets at 480 m/s in autonomous mode, and up to 1,000 m/s when linked to a radar or higher command post. The ability to launch 48 short-range missiles or 12 medium-range missiles.

For the first time, BAE Systems has launched the #APKWS guided munition from a multi-rotor Uncrewed Air System #UAS and successfully destroyed both air & ground targets during trials in the US. The launch of munitions upgraded with BAE Systems’ APKWS laser-guidance kit from a TRV-150, a modified version of the BAE Systems’ Malloy T-150, marks the first air to air engagement of an APKWS guidance kit from a UAS.
