i thought the animatic pilot was the only pilot, but it turns out an animated version of the pilot was made too.

I didn't even know this existed before yesterday. I knew the storyboard pitch did, of course. This might very well have been what was shown to test audiences before the show began proper, along with that Chicken Little pilot that went unproduced. Such a neat find.
