To those in the replies dismissing this as propaganda, that reaction misses the deeper pattern. Utopian visions of communism—however noble they sound in theory—have, time and again, produced devastating outcomes in practice. The problem isn’t merely a flawed implementation here or there; it’s the assumption that human nature can be remade wholesale through ideology, that coercion can yield harmony, and that dissent must be suppressed in service of a promised future. If you’re genuinely interested, I’ve written about Cambodia’s experience under the Khmer Rouge and what it reveals about the dangers of ideological extremism.

There's a whole new generation of uneducated nincompoops and ignoramuses who think communism is the shit. They don't know the difference between "the shit" and just shit. Here's an illustration:

To understand what life was really like in the Soviet Union, read Solzhenitsyn's Gulag Archipelago.

Mid-1970s, my relatives in the Polish countryside had neither refrigerators nor indoor plumbing. City-dwelling relatives received FREE HOUSING ! A 2-bedroom apt shared by 3 unrelated families with children, and sporadic electricity & running water. Potemkin: They weren't allowed to enter the hotel we were staying at.

Let’s first agree that Leftism is a collectivist ideology.✅ Then agree that collectivism requires collective thought.✅ Finally, collective thought requires unrelenting coercion and ultimately force. ✅

“In 1988, Bernie Sanders and his wife, Jane, spent a 10-day "honeymoon" in the Soviet Union, primarily visiting Yaroslavl, a city 160 miles northeast of Moscow, to establish a sister-city relationship while he was mayor of Burlington, Vermont.”- AI overview 👇🏼

Communism is Tyranny disguised as Equality. Fascism is Tyranny disguised as anger and hatred. Human nature remains inhumane. Power protects the powerful, by making all else powerless. Our Constitution is compromised.

The Soviet Union is the goal for @BernieSanders and @NYCMayor . They have not given up the dream. Mamdummy is working his hardest to turn New York City into a miniature version. We’re probably only a couple months away from him arresting people who tried to flee the city with their money to avoid his taxes, needed to pay for all the free crap.

Thank you for sharing your story! Every American must watch this to understand how good we have it —and to never succumb to the outside forces who are hell bent on misleading us into pretty much eternal misery.

What is the message here? That the liberal global capitalist world order is working well in the West? That deep wounds in our culture and demographics doesn't matter because of the stock market? The Soviet Union / Communist argument is fast becoming outdated. This doesn't work anymore. Audience: go and look up the founders of PragerU - helpful context.

As a boomer I knew many of the “useful idiots”. They were not oblivious (eventually…) to some of the problems in the USSR, but were adamant that “They were better off than they had been under the Tsars”, and that whatever problems the USSR and China had, that the USA and conservatism in the west were much greater evils. Such were the de-rigour positions for intellectuals in the west, and still are, with some repositioning of “good”, “evil”, “victims” and “oppressors”. They’ve always been in favour of both “free speech” for themselves and persecution of class-enemies.

This is literally Canada now. I worked as a nurse and yet was still on a wait list for over ten years for a family doctor. Had to go the my own ER for anything I needed and the wait times were 9-14hrs. I’m in the US now and got a family doctor within two weeks after I arrived! USA is a paradise compared to Canada. God bless America 🇺🇸❤️

@triggerpod Well said. Having worked in five countries under current or previous socialist/communist governments, the progressive left have no idea the risks of what they’re hoping for. Nothing good will come. It worries me how stupid we in the west have become.

I've met hundreds of Ukrainians, Russians, Germans, PolesChinese, etc, who lived under this model. They told me of the horrors, torture, and death. As progressives preach their gospel, never forget that the Berlin Wall was not built to keep people out, but to keep subjects in.

Life in capitalism is a living hell in other ways. Life in the US is a living hell in the imperial core with a dumbed down people and millions of homeless people and we're in class slavery working endlessly while people deny that.

Live free or die, not just a slogan on a license plate. Freedom comes from God, not government. That is how freedom is won (or lost). Choose wisely.

Absolutely. As beautiful as life can be, it is also incredibly painful and tragic at times. Communism is no insurance policy for human suffering, it just reduces the beauty and joy of life to everyone suffering equally, except for the chosen few who are in control.

@SwipeWright All true. The USSR was a terrible country to live in and it's government was basically evil. When Gorbachev tried to reform the USSR, the people - given a little freedom - revolted and the Soviet Union broke apart.

Nice propaganda. What was life like in America or in Europe or the rest of the world? Things were pretty much the same all over the place. For you to only pick out Soviet Union tells me your motives behind this. No one gives a fuvk about communism VS capitalism anymore.

One quibble, there was income inequality. The political elites lived large, just as they do now in the US in progressive areas. The other major issue with communism is that it breeds massive corruption within all of society and many immigrants bring that corruption with them. It's been a major issue with Russians/Armenians and Catro era Cubans who came to the US. The sheer amount of Medicaid/Medicare thievery and other frauds was/is astounding. And not to just pick on those countries, it's a major issue with immigrants who comes from other corrupt countries.

A timely post. Bourgeois Socialists now populate the various political parties in the west. When they cannot win outright, they mask the their true intentions until they attain power. Reagan said there are those who READ Marx and there are those who UNDERSTAND Marx.

@voicereason05 I become more and more convinced that they care more for tearing down the West because they are downwardly (or not upwardly) mobile and are driven by envy. Fawning over USSR is a virtuous pretense that helps them feel morally justified in their approach.

The worst part about communist socialism is the constrictive nature. Once it grabs a hold it gets tighter and tighter, more and more restricting.
