When reading both the Old and New Testaments, do people ever pause to consider that the Jews were never a single blood race defined by skin color? The idea that skin color determines tribe is a modern invention of propaganda and false teachings, while civilization has always been class-based, not color-based. Look at Solomon: he took wives from every nation and walk of life. The same is true of Noah’s sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth, who were distinguished by their character and destiny not their race though we study their skin tone and call it a race though any one of their genes indicate their offspring could have been black, white or brown. A “Jew” was never defined by skin tone. It was a community, just as “Christian” is a community today: a diverse colony of people whom God sovereignly chose to receive and preserve His Word. Today in all respects the modern Jew is the same, the only thing lacking is our understanding to this fact.
