Competitive bids which usually means going with the lowest bidder which invariably leads to cost overruns and delays. The reporter who knows zero about building compared to POTUS who’s been a builder for 50 yrs does understand how no bid contracts can benefit the final outcome of the project.

I disagree that bids leads to good quality work when it comes to the federal government but that isn’t a statement of approval for what the president is doing.

Well we know where the extra $400 million is coming from. Had he bid it out, he probably could have done it for $200 million as planned.

The ballroom was supposed to paid for 100% by donors. Now we're paying for it while republicans have a 'plan' for Social Security that they're going to reveal 'after midterm elections'. Meanwhile the deficit increases to record highs.

I hope it goes the way of the Reflecting Pool.
