side note: I am a licensed esthetician and I’ve been trained on microneedling. I’ve done it on myself and clients. I will be honest and say I’m not entirely sure what happened here. I think there may have been an issue with infection control

It also creates a passage of entry for any topical products put on top to go DEEPER into the skin.

This means you want to AVOID applying strong & irritating topical products like retinol, fragrance, AHAs, ascorbic & BHA after microneedling in order to prevent inflammation

Contraindications (meaning who NOT to do this treatment on) for microneedling: - Skin cancer - Severe acne - Keloid on palms and soles. If they’re prone, do a test area. Wait 2 weeks - Moles and warts - Herpes - Scars less than 6 months old - Pregnancy (numbing cream like lidocaine isn’t good for baby) - Bacterial or fungal infection in treatment area
