Smile was actually a very solid album full of really great music, but I guess it didn’t have a marketable aesthetic at the time, that’s why it flopped.

It’s great and there’s bops but the songs are a bit sadder and you can also hear it in the production, not necessarily bad but it’s not a party album like td

The whole kind of idea of it was finding love and like hiding your tears for example songs like teary eyes it’s about dancing even though your upset and to find light in bad situations

Covid ruined it tbh. Never Really Over was a hit because it was released in 2019. Harleys in Hawaii became a sleepy hit, though 💙
