It's not paint. It's called Thermoplastic. It's heated \ Melted to around 475°F. And yes, Templates are used for the layout. I did this in the US for about 10 years. This Thermo is also Sprayed out of trucks on Roads and Highways. Used in high traffic areas; last longer than paint. The worst thing is when you get it on your bare skin. 2nd and 3rd degree burns. You can't wipe melted plastic off. Markings and Lines are coated with Glass beads. That's what makes them shine or reflective at night from lights. 😉
