My rent is $2,500 for a 3 bedroom house ….then there is utilities and other expenses….unfortunately I can’t live in my car because I have two children…honestly if it weren’t for them I’d say fuck it too.

Me and my wife went homeless and lived in my truck for 7 months. Our rent was getting hiked another 400$ and had we agreed to that we would literally have just enough to pay our bills and not even eat. So we didn’t renew. We didn’t have thousands for security deposits so we saved every dollar and got ourselves a way better place to live and we are 3 years in here now. If you are going to live like this you can’t get comfortable. Save the money and get into a place. You can do it. We all can.

The American dream was just that. A fleeting moment in time. I worry about my children's generation, because owning anything is disappearing at a frightening rate. Most people don't even own those cars they sleep in. They're on loan, which might as well be renting.

End usery and central banks, then the problem will be fixed. Politicians no matter their party are not going to do anything because they are owned by the wealthy business interests that benefit from this rigged system.

If I didn’t have four teenagers, trust me, I would be living in my car. I’d rather live in my car then give my money to these greedy homeowners. I could be saving versus paying $3000 a month just to rent.

I've been posting about this since 2023 when circumstances of my life created a situation where I was associating with homeless more frequently because my work had changed. At first, I could not believe the number of folks that I was meeting who were essentially working homeless.

I’m in Southern Ontario Canada and work a full time, but minimum wage job. I can’t afford to buy a car to sleep in. I got lucky and locked in an extremely low cost apartment about 10 years ago. If it wasn’t for that, I would be living in a tent somewhere. The crisis is real.

This is so true. My son sometimes sleeps in his car in the gym parking lot because he can’t afford to pay for the gas back-and-forth. He can’t even afford to rent a room in someone’s house. He showers at the gym. This scares me to death, and I beg him not to do it. It’s not safe.

The reason why rents are so high is because uncontrolled migration. The UK let labour pour in millions of migrants. So of course your rent is sky high. Kick labour out, kick the migrants out and the rents will come back down.
