If it were a round number like 100mm this might be useful, but trying to add 74mm to your measurement is just going to cause more mistakes in the long run

And so why design it to be 74mm when you could make it a round number (e.g. 100mm or 3in for US)? 🤔

Just measure 2 inch from one corner then measure back to that line and you won't gat guess in the corner

Ok, but how much is 74 millimeters in freedom units? Could be a foot an half... A mile... I have no clue...

I learned this when I was maybe 13. My father — who was in the retail business and rarely built anything — told me.

I believe that is length of the actual device not the width, but I didn't know this either. Thanks for the information!

You make the mistake of assuming that in 2024 the average builder can add 74 to another random number... 😆
