The wolves will be running again in December as BBC4 marks the 40th anniversary of The Box of Delights with a repeat run (beginning on the 7th of December with the first two episodes, preceded by an introduction from Renny Rye).

One of those genuine children's classics. Of its time, yet somehow timeless.

I started watching this on Sunday (DVD), as I do every year on the 6 Sundays before Christmas. I will also be watching the episodes the BBC is repeating to encourage them to make some decent children’s tv programs again. How about the Children of Green Knowe repeated?

There was some great kids fantasy stuff on TV back then at Xmas. Also "The Children of Green Knowe" on the BBC in 1986 and ITV has a go in 1988 with "The Snow Spider" which I think the BBC did a remake of recently

I loved it so much i subconsciously moved to where it was filmed, opposite Tewkesbury Abbey (Tatchester Cathedral exterior), round the corner from St. Mary’s Lane where Maria is scrobbled. Used to walk in the woods of Eastnor Castle (Chesters). Worked around Bromyard.
