The work is the work… Taylor Decker keeps evolving and it’s cool to see players that have “made it” keep working to be better. It’s hard to fool the NFL, but some guys have. If you’re a young guy, better learn to appreciate the process and not the reward. #AMDG

@__taylordecker So cool to see you still doing your thing, LeChuck. You've been one of the best in your industry for a long time. (And one of OSU's best centers, ever.) Also cool to see you working with a fellow Buckeye. Hope all is well!

My expectation is that we will have a new, better, reinvigorated House Speaker, and it’s going to be a great thing for the country. I know who I work for, and it’s not the people in Washington D.C. It is the Americans who elected me to change Congress for the better.

Pete Carroll on competing for roster spots at USC and willingness to “fight the fight” “It’s tough to be here. It’s hard for guys to hang here and work with all the good players we have… you have to be willing to fight the fight… if you don’t have that mentality it’s hard to be comfortable here. You have to capture the competitive opportunity.” Don’t let competition stop you from being where you want to be ✌️

Peter Thiel on the most important lesson he learned building PayPal The early employees of PayPal went on to build incredible companies like Tesla, SpaceX, LinkedIn, YouTube, Palantir, Yelp, Yammer, and more. When asked about the factors that explain these outlier successes, Thiel suggests that it was probably a combination of several different things: an entrepreneurial culture, lots of strong personalities, and the early 2000s was a great time to start a company. But Thiel also says that the overarching lesson you learned working at PayPal—which had a lot of challenges but ended up succeeding—was: “You can build a great company, but it’s hard.” He contrasts this to the lessons you learn at most startups: “If you’re at a startup that fails, you will learn the lesson that it’s impossible to build a great company and that you should try something less ambitious the next time around. If you’re at a startup where things work too easily [such as Microsoft or Google], you learn the lesson that it’s actually easy to build a great company.” He continues: “Hard is somehow better than easy or impossible. If it’s easy, you don’t need to work hard. If it’s impossible, there’s no point in working hard. So easy and impossible converge to not working hard. Hard tells you you have to work hard.” Video source: This Week in Startups @jason (2015)

My message to Young Democrats of America this weekend: The Democratic Party needs to prove that it is run by people who work hard if it wants to win back working people. Together, we have the passion, the strength, and the dedication to do that work.

Love seeing young players that LOVE the process. Maybe I’m the old dude now.. OK. But many players love the STUFF the game brings. It’s really HARD to be a great OL and not be in love with the process. The trenches expose you. Keep at it Paris Johnson Jr. #OhioBoys #RaisedRight 💪🏾

Why do I have to try so hard to beat an average team I’m not even joking I know it’s DDA but man it’s not fun anymore knowing that you are clearly better than someone but the game is forcing a close result to keep the losing guy to play more so he eventually spends on the game and doesn’t quit

Dirk Nowitzki says the two most painful failures of his career are the reason he became the closer he was during the Mavericks’ 2011 championship run “As it is in life, you have to learn from tough situations, from tough moments. You guys pushed me to be better. It was just a little too predictable.” “I said, you have to add more to your game. You have to work hard that summer and be a better leader and a more complete player.” “You guys forced me to get back in the lab and get better and push. I always say, without the disappointments in ’06 and ’07, I wouldn’t have been the closer in ’11.” “You have to go through tough times and learn from tough mistakes and get better.”

Everything and everyone matters when you’re pursuing greatness and trying to get the most out of players on a team. We are fortunate to have the coaching staff we have. The coaches put in 2-3x the work in preparation as players. I appreciate Coach Tim Walton putting the effort into these moments to create more connection with the young guys. These moments are why these young guys go out and go all out for him. There’s lots that goes into running a team. You need all coaches and players moving in the right direction. All coaches have different styles and techniques to create connection. It’s cool that this is one of them. Ohio State Football

I am blessed to have an amazing stepdad so this made me tear up a little. Guys, if you’re a stepdad, it may be tough at times but keep putting in the work. You matter and the kids see you. ❤️

If you are taking another job, if you are pretending to work from home but you’re not actually working and American taxpayers are paying for it, you better be damn sure that President Trump’s going to figure it out. Department of Government Efficiency is going to cut the waste, cut the fat, and you no longer have a job here.

Canada is the best country in the world. And it’s up to all of us to work hard and make it even better. That is what we’re focused on – and that is what we’ll continue to do.

Sam Presti on April 20th, 2023: “The sky falls on every NBA team at least two times a year… You may play horrible for weeks, it may be a month. You don’t want to have several months… The teams that have a sophisticated competitiveness to them understand that while you’re going through that, that’s the solution. The regression is, okay you have to keep pounding through this and working through it. I think if you have the right principles, right mentality, and right temperament you can work through that and become a better player and a better team.”

Kristaps Porziņgis says a lack of communication and maturity contributed to things not working out with Luka Doncic in Dallas “It’s a big mix of things. Maturity for sure. I’m talking about what I could have done better. It’s many things, the majority on my part. I wasn’t that much into analytics and numbers” “If somebody at that stage of my career, presented it to me the right way and said, ‘This is what we need to do. This is what we need from you. You’re going to be way more effective doing this,’ and explained it to me better, that would have made a difference” “I could have done some things better. It didn’t come out the way all of us envisioned, but I definitely learned a lot from that. I think we both tried to make it work. I think communication and maturity on both of our parts should have been better” (via TheOldManAndTheThree)

Tom Brady explains why constantly telling someone it’s not your fault after failure may make them feel better for five seconds, but ultimately prevents them from improving “It’s amazing to have the support from people to come in and go, ‘Hey man, it’s not your fault. It was the defense’s fault. Not your fault. It was the coach’s fault.’” “The reality is maybe that helps for like five seconds, but in the end it doesn’t change any of the outcomes. If you really want to grow up, just take it all on yourself. Just say, ‘No, it’s my fault. I got to do better.’” “What could I have done better that day? You immediately have to look at yourself in the mirror and aggressively attack yourself.” “I’ve been around great entrepreneurs as well, and I would say that attitude where they put everything back on themselves makes them very successful in business too. Everyone work hard, have humility, have self-awareness, know you could do better. We all have the opportunity to be better.”

Working Hard is a Talent Working Hard is a Talent Working Hard is a Talent As powerful a line as a coach can share to their players!!! Share it with yours! Sir Alex Ferguson Quote..."People separate hard work and ability. But the truth is, one without the other is not enough. Only a handful will make it to the very top, and the pool is so small it will be hungry ability. With Cristiano, everyone sees the games, the goals, the spotlight. But reaching the level he reached was a journey of hard work and dedication. Football was the only thing he thought about—how can I get better? And that was followed by the hard work to actually improve. Working hard is a talent; ability is also a talent. And Cristiano combined both to achieve what he has achieved"
