The world record still standing after 29 years. Jonathan David Edwards' remarkable jump of 18.29 meters, achieved at the World Championships in Gothenburg, remains a standout moment in athletics.

I popped my hamstrings just watching this

Triple jump of a Lifetime for 2 generations.

And his jump started waaaay before the line. 😯

I was watching this series of jumps as they were being broadcast. If I remember correctly he had already broken (his own) world record earlier in the series Though I am not sre whether the first one was not wind-assisted. The nearest jump to this is only 8 cm behind it though

For Americans, bro jumped from the 20 yard line, landed in the end zone 🤯

Unreal to see the record hold that long with the athleticism these days. Great to see it last.

He also held the prior 2 world records. He's built for triple jump.

60 feet! We had a girl on my track team that won states in triple jump and I think she was doing a little over half that distance. Unbelievable.

I remember going out into the street with my housemates after this to measure it out Incomprehensible

Hamstrings of steel
