In the year 2000, there was no Chinese cars in the top 20. Today, there are 5 Chinese brands in the top 20, and 2 in the top 10. Massive State subsidies was the secret behind their success. China spent $230bn to ensure they achieved this. This was blatantly unfair and now, countries are places huge tariffs on Chinese cars.
