The Yankees have let Anthony Volpe struggle for too long

Meanwhile Peraza has started what like 2 or 3 games this year

Volpe has done what very few 2nd year players have done. He has improved and he is only 23 years old. The average batting average in the MLB in 2024 is .244. Volpe is average. Yes, he has hit into some double plays, so has every player on the Yankee roster. He does have 14 errors, but he is an infielder. Whitt has 15. Give the guy a chance. Remember the mistakes you made when you were 23, geez.

another case of cashman wanting to prove he’s right rather than admitting he’s not good

You guys are aware how important shortstop defense is right ?

I do not get the constant hand-wringing over Volpe. He has the fourth highest WAR on the team as a second year pro playing the most difficult position on the field. What do people want, for Pete’s sake?

Gold glove winning SS. Sure he’s struggling offensively but you’ll never have all 9 players hitting well. Unrealistic

Terrible takes… it’s always talkin Yanks bashing their own team. Can’t stand it.

You guys always bash him. Not cool .. he’s great defensively, and only in his second year at the hardest position. I do believe he needs more breaks. Can’t wait to see him do great things in the post season!

No alternative at this point. They seem to be ok with Volpe being a complete liability at the plate because of his defense and base running when he does get on. It's frustrating to watch and you can only hope that his lack of production at the plate doesn't hurt in the playoffs

find a better option than him to play SS rn peraza is not better. volpe is valuable defensively as a 9 hole going into the playoffs the top 8 of the lineup is solid it’s ok for 1 guy to not produce as much as we want but gives you top of the line defense at SS
