Up to this point, Dominguez had seven swings and misses and a called strike against Tarik Skubal. Despite Skubal being so dominant against Dominguez, he sent this changeup into the seats on the ninth pitch of the at-bat. Huge hit. Huge win.

This is not a knock on Jasson Dominguez because he’s new in LF. A more experienced LF will make this catch. You can see the short strides Dominguez is taking to the ball. He has shown hesitancy on balls to the deeper parts of LF and he doesn’t have good reads off the bat. Footwork and reads have always been an issue with him. The hope is that he gets comfortable over time but he’s still a liability out there that will result in moments like this.
