Joachim Trier on Jonathan Glazer and "The Zone of Interest" (2023): "I was a big fan of Jonathan Glazer going through Film school. I went to National Film and Tv school in London and watched all his commercials, his early works, his short films, pop promos, all that. 'The Zone of Interest' (2023) does the impossible task of playing with the biggest complex issue of the 20th century done through the idea of absence. Absence is a big deal in cinema and Jonathan Glazer's formal precision keeps impressing me tremendously; very, very, very moving." ("Four Favorites with Joachim Trier", Letterboxd, 2026) Happy 61st birthday, Jonathan Glazer!

BIRTH (2004) 🖤 One of the boldest auteurs of the twenty-first century, Jonathan Glazer has directed just four feature films (including, most recently, THE ZONE OF INTEREST) in twenty-three years, but each is the work of a major artist.
