The Government's official definition of Islamophobia is already having a chilling effect on free speech. South Wales Police went even further, instructing officers to record any incident that went beyond "legitimate" discussion of Islam. But why should a police officer get to decide what constitutes "illegitimate" discussion of a religion in a country without blasphemy laws? The Free Speech Union threatened South Wales Police with legal action unless it withdrew the guidance, and Claire Coutinho wrote to the Chair of the Equality and Human Rights Commission. The force has now confirmed that it has paused the guidance. The Government's definition is a gold-embossed invitation for public bodies to go even further than ministers in stifling legitimate criticism and debate about Islam. As Claire tells FSU Director of Research and Policy David Rose, if an officer records an incident on the basis that your comments went beyond "legitimate" discussion of Islam, that could appear on an enhanced DBS check and potentially affect your employment prospects. I asked their energy spokesperson why replacing British production with dirtier foreign imports helps climate change… …and why they blindly trust the Climate Change Committee when their offshore wind costings were wrong *by a factor of three*. All I got back was ‘but the Climate Change Committee said to do it.’ Then they all voted for the new target anyway. Parliament cannot keep outsourcing its thinking to unelected, unaccountable bodies. Especially when their numbers are wildly wrong.

But the truth will baffle you. The girl was not scared of her family, she was scared of people, each and every person around her, because she was in trauma, in depression, after the family rescued her she revealed that- After she was abducted by Javed, she was brutally tortured and assaulted by Javed and his family members. She also said that she was raped and kept hostage for months in the apartment. She has been diagnosed with severe depression and, as said earlier, is even scared of everyone around her, including her own family members, due to trauma. She was married forcefully against her will, was raped, forced to go through conversion, marks of cigarettes were all over her body, allegation is also that she was thrown into a racket of prostitution for 6 months! Now tell me, how can a human being do this? What possible hate could they have against Hindus to fall to such a level?

This woman was trying to break into the fashion world. She and her photographer were going around NYC taking photographs that were bold and daring. She was in the process of taking this photo when a woman starts to yell at her about how she can’t work without looking out the window and seeing the young lady hanging onto the guard rail for a pose. She expressed she was worried she was going to fall. The young lady was more interested that the woman owns a magazine than she was about her own safety, she then proceeds to call her a Karen for their interaction. To me it seems like she was voicing honest concern, she wasn’t trying to cause an issue and it was in fact the actions of the young lady that was the cause of the distraction for those in the city that day. What is your take on this, was this a valid concern on the lady’s behalf?
