but I remember when this show was airing live and the black straight community was up in arms.. they were in comment sections going OFF. They did not want these characters to be gay, so the forced that “brotherly love” angle at the end. Smh.. This is the REAL reason we don’t have many black gay storylines.

I was gagged with this aired. They could have carried on with this we already don’t get enough black gay stories as it is.

that was my thing. They had so much chemistry.. then they tried to straight wash his character and we felt nothing. Them boys were crying over each other. They wasn’t no damn “bros”.

@cookingbitch123 I think both the gays and the straights missed the point. I get it. But as a gay man, I’ve had friends with straight men and we have cried over each other and told each other that we loved each other nearly daily. Hours long talks and deep connections.

I definitely hear you. Im only speaking on the on screen chemistry that Micah and Isiah had.. when we watch that show in full.. he didn’t even have that romantic chemistry with Kiki.. but he had it with Isiah. It was so evident, and it just FELT like they fell under the pressure of the viewers to kill the evolution of that relationship.

It made me feel seen because I’ve had lots of deeply intimate connections with straight men. It was healing to me because I still have issues having any relationship with men, even though this is who I’m mainly attracted to. It was deep mistrust for other men.
