I'm really interested in the history of New York City, especially from its very beginning all the way through the 20th century. That’s a big project to cover! This first book goes up to 1898. The second book picks up right there and runs through 1919. The third one, which was just released last year, continues up to the end of World War II in 1945. Has anyone read this book (or the series)? If so, how would you rate it, and did you enjoy the journey?

Tel Aviv

Tokyo!

Relative to a lot of the cities on this list, NYC was comparatively developed in 1962.

Tokyo actually looks horrible from urbanist point of view

All built on sand bars or garbage dumps, lets check back in when this shit is crumbling into its respective ocean. Quick money, no longevity. UGLY TOO!

Estamos evolucionando o decayendo?

Just don't forget, all this shiny development has a BIG unseen cost, and folks, we're just starting to pay for it: polluted air and no clean water, for starters...

I’m not saying people in the West shouldn’t have kids, but seeing this, our world is overcrowded. People in other areas need population control. Sorry, Elon. Japan has had a shrinking population for years, then brought in foreigners 2 compensate, not anymore. Let’s watch them

dc at night was like a real life Gotham.

Dubai and abu dhabi ❤️

Too much for nothing...bad investing.

Some places change. Others simply grow more beautiful with time.
