There are now about 11,150 Starlink satellites orbiting Earth SpaceX has already built the largest satellite constellation in history… And now, with new Starlink V3 deployments, SpaceX is about to take the network to an entirely different level...like really insane levels

SpaceX just launched the 1000th Starlink satellite of 2026. That’s ~10 satellites deployed every single day and one launch roughly every 2.5 days. Starlink now has 10,000+ active satellites in orbit, the largest satellite constellation ever built.

Starlink is about to make its current network look like the warm-up. V3 satellites start deploying this month, with the full constellation eventually delivering more than 100x the bandwidth of today’s 11,000-satellite network. That means a lot more room for more people, more devices and more data. The next Starlink upgrade is not exactly subtle. Starlink SpaceX / Writer: Annette, Grok Imagine Designer: Janné

10,200 operational Starlink satellites are impressive. But having them talk to one another is where it gets really interesting. The V3 satellites tested on Starship all connected through laser links, while Starlink’s broadband fleet is already delivering around 800 Tbps of downlink capacity. Now combine that inter-satellite network with Starship carrying much larger V3 deployments. More capacity. More routes for the data. More places Starlink can reach properly. This is becoming one very capable orbital network. Starlink SpaceX / Writer: Annette, Grok Imagine Designer: Janné

STARLINK IS RUNNING EARTH’S LARGEST SERVER… IN ORBIT While everyone else is bragging about data centers on the ground, SpaceX quietly put 9,000 solar-powered computers in space and called it a constellation! Orbital Math: • Starlink sits at over 9,000+ active satellites after the latest batch • The entire rest of Earth manages roughly 3,000 to 4,000 combined • Each Starlink unit is a solar-powered network node with onboard compute • SpaceX now operates around 75 % of all active satellites in orbit At this rate Earth’s “space industry” is basically Starlink plus supporting characters! One company alone managing more than 11,000 satellites in orbit is completely insane SpaceX is basically becoming the traffic controller of low Earth orbit Every Starlink satellite has autonomous collision avoidance onboard If collision probability rises above just 1 in 100,000, the satellite begins planning an avoidance maneuver That is 10× more conservative than the 1-in-10,000 industry threshold SpaceX cites But the impressive part goes beyond Starlink itself SpaceX continuously shares precise orbital data and planned trajectories with the U.S. Space Force, LeoLabs and other satellite operators so everyone can screen for potential conjunctions and coordinate maneuvers Starlink satellites can then calculate safer trajectories and autonomously move when needed 11,000+ spacecraft Constantly moving Constantly tracking risk Constantly coordinating with everything else in orbit SpaceX built the largest satellite constellation in history and then built an autonomous traffic management system around it

From concept to reality. SpaceX has successfully deployed Starlink V3 satellites into Earth’s orbit and made contact with them for the first time. At scale, one Starship carries 60 V3 satellites, the same network capacity as about 20 Falcon 9 launches.

SpaceX Starship completes its first orbital insertion burn and is now in Earth orbit for the first time. It also deployed 26 V3 Starlink satellites. Pretty amazing view.

Starlink reached the stage where adding another 29 satellites feels like adding another app to your phone. It's no longer breaking news. Just another mission. Nobody calls a press conference. The number keeps ticking higher. 10,000+ satellites now orbit Earth. SpaceX has an incredible way for turning the absurd into the ordinary. Starlink SpaceX / Writer: Annette, Designer: Janné

Most people think serious AI compute in orbit is years away. For SpaceX, that is way too slow. They already control the stack. The plan is to launch the first orbital compute satellites next year, using the Starlink V3 bus with the payload swapped for compute and much bigger solar arrays. Then scale hard into 2028. Same rocket company. Same satellite stack. Very different workload. SpaceX SpaceXAI Starlink / Writer: Annette, Grok Imagine Designer: Janné

BREAKING: Starlink is gearing up for an even bigger expansion in Brazil. 🇧🇷🛰️ SpaceX has asked Anatel for additional Ku-, Ka- and Q/V-band spectrum, paving the way for greater capacity and stronger service. Starlink is already authorized to operate up to 11,900 satellites in Brazil. Starlink’s network capacity in Brazil is about to get even bigger.

The first Starlink V3 satellites got to space and immediately got busy. They deployed their solar arrays, fired up their thrusters, connected to the Starlink constellation through radio and laser links, then casually took pictures of Starship. Not a bad first day in orbit. SpaceX Starlink / Writer: Annette, Grok Imagine Designer: Janné

Yosemite is about as far from a city network as you can get. And now it has high-speed internet through Starlink. No fiber. No cell tower on every mountain. Just satellites doing the awkward part. SpaceX Starlink / Writer: Annette, Grok Imagine Designer: Janné

The larger V3 Starlink satellites that will deploy from Starship will bring gigabit connectivity to users and are designed to add 60 Tera-bits-per-second of downlink capacity to the Starlink network. That's more than 20 times the capacity added with every V2 Mini launch on Falcon 9

SpaceX is becoming one of the biggest solar-power operators in space. Gen 1 Starlink: ~10 MW in orbit. Gen 2: ~100 MW. Gen 3: targeting ~1,000 MW. That's roughly a 10x jump every satellite generation. Most people think of Starlink as an internet network. Meanwhile, thousands of satellites are turning orbit into a rapidly growing solar-power grid. SpaceX Starlink

The brainwashing has been so strong that many people still believe SpaceX doesn’t produce anything. Meet Starlink: a highly profitable and fast growing internet mega constellation that quickly grew to 2/3rd of all satellites in orbit. SpaceX built that, amongst other things

Falcon 9 launching another 27 Starlinks does not sound unusual anymore. That’s the impressive part. This mission pushed the world’s biggest satellite network a little further, with Starlink already past 11,000 active satellites. And the booster doing the lifting? It came back and landed again after its 19th flight. More satellites up. Same rocket back. SpaceX has turned “another launch” into an industrial rhythm.
