There are two ways doing electric testing … also testing if the breaker works correctly

As a UK electrician. I have done the second method many many times😂😂. Havnt got time to walk back and forward to the fuseboard all day

The US has the redneck version.

As an American electrician I've done the Eastern European method many times.

Well ... if I were paying by the hour, an electrician adopting this approach is fine with me

Literally just plug a lamp into an extension cord and place it somewhere where you can see if the light is on or off from then breaker panel. Or you could just label the breakers. Or even just sharpie the breaker number on the backside of the wall plate.

I did that in highschool with bare wires sticking from the wall. We needed the wires to tie the ping-pong net to. After a few times we learnt which breaker to switch. Then the teacher figured out what we were doing. He was not happy.

The eastern European method is the pure rock'n'roll one! 😁

Eastern Europeans method is better because it not only identifies the circuit breaker, but also checks it is working properly. Two steps in one.

Everything is a smoke machine if you use it wrong enough

And So? What's the Big Deal?

Induction vs deduction

You are not from E-Europe. Naked ends of cords are tied !before! inserting. 2dn, it is kept inserted, while performing maintenance, because no one knows when and who will put breaker in power on position.

The electrician test verifies which breaker goes to which outlet. helps to mark them properly next to the individual breakers. I'd be happy to see an electrician I hire do this

That's the best way to find the right breaker. 😄👍

Is it against the law or something, to just place a sticker with each room's name?

Im western european but you know……

HAHA YOU WISH I DIDN'T TRY THIS AT HOME!!

he he he ... true.

Our way is more efficient 💪🏻

in WEU you find Power, in EEU power finds you.

Western Europe understands how to save time.

totally safe and not dangerous at all

Connect the wires to a lightbulb socket instead. Use multiple times as a tester or as an emergency source of light.

So true…

😂😂😂 Some truth in it.😆

This is how I found my house's circuit breaker box to be mislabeled. Needed to change the furnace cutoff switch (which somehow went bad for a switch that is almost never turned off), flipped the breaker labeled furnace, when I went to change the switch another breaker tripped!

jesus.....
