😳 There be GIANTS there! Biblical texts and ancient documents make not infrequent mention of giants living among the children of men. Found in 1948 among the Qumran caves, the Book of Giants depicts a curious story about the prophet Enoch. 120 years before their discovery, Joseph Smith produced...

“Atlantis and the Book of Enoch are the same story.” Are these real accounts of our ancient history? “It’s an allegory of the pre-flood world.” “The gods descend to the Earth.” “They divide the Earth into … the empire of the gods.” “They copulate with human women.” “They progenerate demigod offspring who become the kings of their respective kingdoms.” “God incites them to fratricidal war.” “And then … the flood occurs.” Timothy Alberino just broke down a compelling case for why the legend of Atlantis and the Book of Enoch are not just stories. They describe humanity’s real, ancient history. And the “empire of the gods” they described may have ruled over humanity for 1,000 years. Listen to this fascinating case he made with Jesse Michels: “In the Book of Enoch … advanced extraterrestrial beings descended to the Earth and imparted some of the trademarks of civilization [to] mankind.” “It’s not just a biblical narrative that has giant offspring as the product of the union of the gods and women.” “In Greek mythology, Cyclopes were giants.” “There’s Gilgamesh, who was part human, part god.” “He was a giant.” “I think the fact that these beings were giants was strategic so that they could dominate the Earth, usurp the thrones of men.” “Then there was the creation of … the empire of the gods, which could have had a duration of at least 1,000 years or more.” “In the Genesis 5 genealogy … you have under 1,000 years from the descent of the Watchers in the days of Jared to the flood.” “According to the Septuagint … it’s over 1,000 years.” “And this general narrative that you find in the Book of Enoch is illustrated in the story of Atlantis recounted by Plato.” “In the Timaeus and Critias dialogue … Solon is told by the priests of Sais that the Greeks don’t really have any ancient history.” “And that the Greeks only remember one cataclysm, but that there have been many cataclysms in the past.” “The legend of Atlantis … begins with the Greek gods … divvying up the world amongst themselves.” “Poseidon gets the territory of Atlantis.” “He becomes enamored of a human woman named Cleito.” “He takes her to wife and he copulates with her, and gives birth to five sets of male twins.” “Those twins become the kings of Atlantis.” “They go on a war path.” “And they’re just steamrolling everybody—until they encounter the Athenians.” “This is why the priests are telling Solon, you don’t understand how magnificent your antecedents are.” “They were the only ones who could rival the military prowess of the Atlanteans.” “According to the Greek mythology, the kingdom of Athens was founded by a god.” “Like Poseidon established Atlantis.” “So you have these two hybrid kingdoms going to war with each other.” “And then it’s interrupted by a cataclysm.” “This is that cataclysm that Plato is recounting.” “Now take that story of Atlantis … and compare it to … the Book of Enoch.” “It’s the same story.” Timothy Alberino Jesse Michels American Alchemy

Here’s my review after reading the Gospel of Thomas 😊 Background: Gospel of Thomas is one of the books found by farmers in old clay jars in Egypt in 1945. When the ancient Coptic writing style was compared to writing styles over the years, experts determined the book was likely written between the years 100 and 200 CE. Over the centuries, ancient Christians had quoted Gospel of Thomas here and there, but a full copy of the book had been lost until the 1945 discovery. The book is said to have been written by Doubting Thomas, the disciple of Jesus. Of course the copy found in Egypt was likely translated from Thomas’ original writing some years after he wrote it. After reading it myself, I was shocked to find how very many of the sayings are in the Bible. It is a book of parables only, not the full story of Jesus. Some of the parables in Thomas are not in the Bible. I’ve heard from Christians who are scared to read something about Jesus that’s not in the Bible. When I hear that, I always think of the last verse of the Book of John which says: “And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.” So John makes clear that Jesus’ whole story is not in the Bible. How delightful, after telling God I’d love to learn more of Jesus’ story, that I come across these sayings.😊🙏🏼 What’s your take?
