Iceland based artist and activist Julia May has received death threats from Israel supporters because of her support for Palestine. In a video, May confirmed that she was physically and mentally safe and remained committed to her position, chanting “Free Palestine.” May is a visual artist specializing in public murals and socially engaged art. Her work focuses on supporting Palestine and raising awareness of what is happening in Gaza and the West Bank. Parfitt, who is in her eighties, has been arrested several times while protesting the group’s proscription as a terrorist organisation. She is among more than 2,700 people detained by police while resisting the ban since July 2025. The government has said it plans to appeal the court’s decision and Palestine Action will remain a proscribed organisation in the meantime.
