There has been speculation that Heritage Foundation is distancing itself from Tucker Carlson over the past 24 hours. I want to put that to rest right now—here are my thoughts:

Some questions: (1) “Criticize” is carrying a lot of weight here—there’s absolutely nobody arguing against criticism; many people are disgusted by the grotesque lies and bad faith distortions Carlson (and others) makes. Not just about Israel but its supporters in the United States. Apparently you don’t listen to his show or read his newsletters, or else this would be obvious. On the other hand, if you do listen and believe he’s making a sober critique, I’ll be happy to discuss them with you and anyone else at Heritage point-by-point, as I’m sure many others would be. (2) I’m also very surprised to hear that it’s “globalists” preventing discussion about Israel, or (as you claim) attempting to bully others into supporting it. Who is that, exactly? Because on the Right, we’ve defined “globalists” for decades as the UN and the contraction of other transnational left-wing groups interested in one-world government of one kind or another. Clearly, you don’t mean those people, because all of them agree with Tucker on Israel—and have since before you and I were born. Considering that’s the case, what exactly makes a supporter of Israel a “globalist”? I’ve been doing foreign policy on the Right for 20 years, and I’m stumped. I’d love to know.
