If I were to go on TV and talk about Jews in the way that Nigel Farage talked about Muslims here on national TV, I would RIGHTLY be called an antisemite, I'd be RIGHTLY out of a job by the end of the week, I'd have my licence to practice RIGHTLY revoked by the regulator and I would be deligitimised and deplatformed. Instead, this man will continue to be platformed and is free to run for parliament. There is a clear hierarchy of #racism in the UK, which has become abundantly obvious to everyone.

Taken from my bedroom window today in the Scottish Highlands in the snow ❄️ I have shared limited information about the sheer trauma that has happened to me over the last 3.5 years, and now 8 major surgeries later. I've had to be quiet about most of it. It will soon be over, and I guarantee you will read all about it. In Book 1, I wrote in Scotland this time last year for 3 months, and now in Book 2, I am here writing it now. It's only with faith, family, courage, and therapy that I've made it till now. Because the reality is that some wouldn't have, and I was nearly one. So I harnessed that pain and wrote the book, and I can't wait till you can READ ALL ABOUT IT. This part of the journey coming to Scotland to write these books has been the most cathartic healing thing I've ever done, and I cant wait for you to read my story. Love Emma ❣️

The translator Anton Hur shared a story about how RM “saves” the Korean literature and about his impact on publishers and sales. 👦🏻 My favorite live-saving, Namjoon story that I have is that…so a long time ago, I picked up this book by Lee Seong Bok about their aphorisms, about his poetry writing, about his poetics. It’s a very obscure topic, who reads about poetics?! But I read this book, it’s called ‘Indeterminate Inflorescence’ and I loved it! I was like, ‘Oh this is the life book, it’s like it contains all of my artistic ambitions in this one book but no one is going to publish it because no one is going to allow me to translate a book about Korean poetics so but I did find one publisher, it’s not even in New York, it’s in Seattle…And one tiny publisher that said ‘Okay, we’ll publish this book’, and then, a month before this book was supposed to come out, Namjoon posted about the aphorisms by Lee Seong Bok and when I saw that I thought like the angels were singing in the heaven and like manna was raining on me…I could not believe that this was happening and then like the first print got sold out, the second, the third got sold out. This tiny book that you know, it wasn’t a hit in Korea, it was like completely obscure. When I mentioned in Korea people were like ‘Lee Seong Bok wrote a book about aphorisms?’ like even if they know who Lee Seong Bok is…And now we have a, I think they’ll allow me to announce it but we have a deal for Lee Seong Bok’s poetry collection that summer’s end, that also Namjoon posted so I’m just so grateful to RM for saving Korean literature! 🔗 🔗 #RM #방탄소년단RM #김남준 #BTSRM

One point I keep trying to drive home here is that this is the dystopia we were warned about. The main difference between this mind-controlled dystopia and fictional dystopias in novels like 1984 is that in 1984 people knew they weren't living in a free society, whereas in this dystopia the people believe they are free. I love this video. This is why you do difficult things in front of your kids. They need to see what it's like to set a goal, to work for that goal, and to achieve it. As dads we should always strive to be getting better. Physically, mentally, financially, emotionally, spiritually. It's a lifelong journey which necessarily comes with struggle. And some of those struggles are meant to be private. But most of them don't need to be private. And they can actually serve as powerful lessons. So a reminder for myself as much as anyone else reading this: Don't shy away from showing your work. Talk about it. Talk about why it's important. Talk about where you're at now. Talk about what it took to get there, and talk about what's next. (Also check out the end of the video, which made me laugh out loud)
