hyunjin talking about his vacation in iceland! 🥟: i recently went to iceland and it was really great! i highly recommend iceland. driving for 8 hours a day, there were moments like that but i managed to go all the way around. iceland is about the same size as korea, it's like going from seoul to busan and back. it was wonderful. 🥟: on the first day, it felt like autumn. on the second day, it was really warm like summer. on the third and fourth day, there was snowstorm and the car stopped. i felt like i was in winter but no buildings around, all surrounded by mountains and snow. it felt like paradise. seeing it right in front of my eyes, i didn't want to wear sunglasses. so i was really happy!

The more I learn about DNA and the inner workings of our cells, the more I’m convinced that there is a Creator/Force/God. You can call it what you want but to think it’s all just “evolution”, the result of natural selection, seems absolutely absurd to me. I am not saying evolution isn’t real but I am saying that our understanding about the nature of our reality and where we come from is sorely lacking. We like to tell ourselves the “we know the truth”, but the correct answer is that we really don’t know at all. Human origins is the mystery of all mysteries and our arrogance instead of reverence for that mystery is a big reason why evil has gained such a foothold in our world in my opinion. What do you think? Evolution explains it or something else is at play? I don’t claim to know the truth but instinctually feel our explanations are fundamentally flawed. The young Captain was having a conversation with the pupils, and here is what he saying, “I was telling you a while ago, in school they were telling us that we couldn’t do it here. They lied to us. We grow wheat here, and it works well, and we will develop it. Some people have started, this year, I was able to see people who did it, as part of the presidential initiative, and I was told that in the past, some were able to do it and they produced it well. Currently, we are sowing wheat in some farmlands as part do the presidential initiative. What you eat must be produced here. So, this is why I say that we will teach you many things, and we will review the curricula they teach you. For those who drink coffee, they told us that your coffee, chocolate, it is only in the countries with abundant rainfalls, that here is only savanna, desert, it does not rain, we cannot farm. Again, they lied to us. It’s not true! Coffee grows well here, cocoa grows well too. There are people here who have the farms here, even in Ouagadougou here, there are people who have cocoa trees in their yards. Our mainstream culture is conflict-avoidant. There is the assumption that the less conflict there is in a relationship, the better it is. I disagree. If there is real intimacy, conflict is actually unavoidable. Because we are all different. The real indicator of health in a relationship isn’t the lack of conflict, it is the quality of our repair. It is the level of authenticity we can bring. That requires knowing how to be with conflict and disagreement, how to hold nuance. And it also requires practicing the art of repairing. Are we willing to show up and repair what we broke? Do we have the skills and capacity required for that? Avoiding conflict means avoiding truth and therefore avoiding real intimacy. This work is essential and transcends the personal. If we aren't capable of dealing with conflict in our own personal lives, it is no wonder that the world is in the state it is, where the most prevalent conflict management strategy is escalation.

I wish the church was taught more about the spiritual reality of our world, and the spiritual war that we are in. This world is in control of the evil one and there is evidence of our biblical history everywhere we look. It’s always fascinating to me getting a glimpse into that world by seeing the remnant of it.

Last year I was determined to make a contribution to America's 250th Anniversary. This documentary, The Thread of Liberty: Keeping Our Republic, is what came of that desire. I've posted it here in its entirety, as well as at We have an incredible nation, the first ever rights-based government in the history of the world in which the people are sovereign. We should appreciate it and, more importantly, love it. But loving requires understanding and then restoring. There is a great deal to celebrate and there is also a great deal of work that lies before us if we're to restore the republic. One of the central questions for the future of the American Republic is do we still feel an obligation to our experiment in free government? I believe one of the places that we renew the obligation, and begin the restoration, is with a rebirth of instinctive patriotism. I sincerely hope this documentary plays a role in that rebirth. Keep America Free.
