Yet on this same date, we also remember a different morning. Four years ago, Ukraine awoke to war. It is a painful reminder that freedom does not endure on its own. It must be defended. It must be protected. Freedom means the ability to believe in the future and to live without fear. Today, Ukraine is fighting for that very right. Estonia knows from its own history what it means to lose freedom and what it means to restore it. That is why 24 February is not only a day of celebration. It is also a responsibility.
