There is an emerging pattern in Toronto’s protest landscape: a small but influential network of activists and politicians operating in a seemingly symbiotic, at times parasitic, relationship. A clear illustration of this overlap came during the 43rd anniversary of the Charter event at City Hall, hosted by Progress Toronto....

Gisela McKay seems busy in 2025. So far she has participated in and/or organized the: ✅ disruption at Chrystia Freeland’s leadership campaign launch; ✅ demonstration outside MP Bill Blair’s (maybe) home; ✅ protest at Boiler Room rave; ✅ sit-in at the Globe and Mail; ✅ distribution of hot food with no hand-washing station at City Hall; ✅ obscenity-laden concert within earshot of public skating rink; and ✅ disruption at municipal budget meeting. This list is not exhaustive, and it is only the end of February. It is reasonable to question whether this sacred fire outside the courthouse is, in fact, a pretence to provoke confrontation with local authorities. Last year, Gisela organized a dance party outside Toronto Police Headquarters that resulted in two arrests, including an Indigenous woman hyped up to the point of allegedly assaulting police (and sustaining injuries herself, including to her eyes). Apparent courthouse fire keeper Jordn Scum is involved in the same protest scene, sometimes to his own material detriment. Anyone associated with Gisela opens themselves up to scrutiny based on her track record of exploiting public resources while simultaneously disrupting public order. Law enforcement seems to be taking a laissez faire approach, allowing people to use protest and culture as smokescreens for chaos— even if a permit was obtained (not yet confirmed), disputes cannot be resolved with vigilante violence. The camera stays on if there is a threat of harm. 📸 Feb 27, 2025 #cdnpoli #Toronto #ProtestMania

Prominent Toronto pro-Hamas organizer charged with terrorism offence Police allege Ahmad Hassan Hajahmad acted in association with Hamas following years of open support for the designated terrorist organization and leading demonstrations in Toronto. A prominent organizer of pro-Hamas demonstrations in Toronto has been charged with a terrorism-related offence after a joint investigation by the Toronto Police Service and the RCMP's Integrated National Security Enforcement Team (INSET). According to Toronto police, 33-year-old Ahmad Hassan Hajahmad, who is also widely known as Ahmad Jarrar, has been charged with one count of participating in or contributing to the activities of a terrorist group under Section 83.18 of the Criminal Code. Police allege that during demonstrations near Bay Street and Front Street West on May 25 and September 7, 2024, Hajahmad used amplification equipment to make public statements advocating detestation and harm against members of the Israeli and Jewish communities. Investigators executed a search warrant at a Toronto residence on March 7, 2025, seizing multiple electronic devices. Following a joint investigation, police allege they gathered evidence indicating Hajahmad acted for the benefit of, and in association with, Hamas, which Canada designated as a terrorist entity in 2002. On July 20, 2026, the Attorney General of Ontario and the Government of Canada consented to proceed with the prosecution. Hajahmad was arrested the following day, appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice, and has since been released on bail. A court-ordered publication ban currently limits what additional information can be disclosed. Toronto Police Chief Myron Demkiw said investigations into offences committed during demonstrations continue long after crowds disperse, adding that complex cases such as this demonstrate the importance of strong counterterrorism partnerships. Police also acknowledged the RCMP's INSET for its role in the investigation. The charge follows years of Hajahmad's public involvement in Toronto's anti-Israel protest movement. He became a familiar figure at demonstrations following the October 7, 2023, Hamas terrorist attacks, helping organize rallies, speaking at events, participating in the University of Toronto encampment in 2024, donating Palestinian flags, and at times coordinating with police during demonstrations. His public statements have also drawn significant attention. In a widely circulated video from April 2025, Hajahmad stated he was organizing a Toronto "Day of Rage" at the request of Hamas. In other videos, he described his movement as "an extension to the resistance in Palestine.” He has also delivered speeches repeating antisemitic claims about Zionist control of political institutions and urged that children be taught there is "no such country called Israel." The arrest marks what appears to be the first terrorism-related charge laid against one of the most recognizable organizers in Toronto's pro-Hamas protest movement, nearly three years after demonstrations began following October 7. Previous interactions with law enforcement, including mischief charges stemming from a smoke canister incident at Union Station in January 2025, carried far less serious consequences. Given Hajahmad's years of highly visible organizing, repeated public statements, and even claims that he was acting at Hamas' request, many Canadians will reasonably ask why it took so long for a terrorism-related charge to be laid. Why is he also now out on bail? Authorities have long maintained they monitor criminal activity connected to demonstrations, yet it’s taken years for terrorism related charges to be laid.

Two-tiered policing on display in Toronto as Jews harassed and restaurant owner targeted Welcome to Hogtown. Open an “illicit” restaurant and you’ll be charged for the policing costs. Chant genocide against Jews, law enforcement is “on the house.” Recently, former Toronto restaurateur Adam Skelly was in court to launch a constitutional challenge against the City of Toronto and the Province of Ontario. Sadly, he was not successful. By way of background, during the hellacious Covid-19 days, Skelly had the utter temerity to open his fabulous restaurant, Adamson Barbecue in west-end Toronto. His customers rejoiced, for Skelly was serving up the very best barbecue in Toronto. Not amused were the politicians. And law enforcement. And the nattering nabobs of negativity who comprise the rank-and-file of the mainstream media. The end-result: the city literally sent in all the king’s horses and all the king’s men: the Toronto Police — including its mounted unit — brutally shut down Adamson Barbecue in November 2020. Skelly was arrested. He was placed in handcuffs. He was jailed. He was forced into bankruptcy. All for no valid reason. Indeed, less than half a kilometre away from Adamson Barbecue was a Costco superstore. It remained fully open — including its foodservice facility! But never mind… To add insult to injury, Skelly was sent an invoice from the City of Toronto billing him for $187,000! The city said that was the cost that it had incurred for policing during the three-day span Skelly had opened his eatery. Yet is that the new normal? Those staging a demonstration now get billed for law enforcement costs? If so, when are the organizers of the hateful pro-Hamas demonstrations going to get their invoice? Indeed, at last Sunday’s Bathurst/Sheppard protest, at nearby Earl Bales Park, the Toronto Mounted Unit was on standby. Of note, in 2024 alone, the city estimates that $19.5 million was spent on exclusively policing the pro-Hamas/anti-Jew rallies. This total included $8 million in “premium pay" (a.k.a., overtime) for officers, with significant resources diverted from regular duties to manage the protests. Yet, for some reason, these exorbitant law enforcement costs are “on the house” when it comes to the Hamasholes? Why? It’s gross. And it makes for yet another outrageous double standard. And again, we ask: who is driving this?

With mass rallies now all illegal, a Russian man in Vologda aiming to protest the state of healthcare in his region without going to prison staged a demonstration using mannequins. But alas, it was not to be, as the protest was stopped by police and he was fined 20,000 rubles by court decision. In Vologda, a deputy from "New People" was fined for "organizing a mass event" with mannequins at a polyclinic The Vologda City Court recognized the performance of local deputy Alexander Borisov ("New People") with 13 mannequins lined up at a polyclinic as a mass picket. Last November, Borisov set up mannequins with signs in front of the Vologda Polyclinic No. 2 building, such as "I've been waiting for a therapist's appointment for 2 months and I'm getting dizzy", "I'm a mannequin and I'm tired of waiting in line, but what do real people feel?", "I've been waiting in line so long that I've forgotten why I came here", and others. According to the deputy, he wanted to draw attention to the staffing of medical institutions and the availability of free medical care. The court considered that Borisov "organized and held a public event in the form of a picket using quickly erected collapsible structures in the form of mannequins". In the footage of the action, there is no one except the 13 mannequins, Borisov himself, and random passers-by in the background. For the "mass picket", the deputy was fined 20 thousand rubles. The court's decision was noted by "Mediazona". Deputy Borisov called the incident "a tool of pressure to intimidate and discourage people from taking initiative".

Everything in Israel is so fucking crazy: Ben Gvir's TikTok goon, along with a partly paid gang, cooperates with Israeli police to disperse and terrorize a pro-Palestinian protest. Mordechai David is a right-wing TikTok star who's literally turned into Ben Gvir's lapdog. For a while now, he's been leading small groups of young thugs who troll, harass, and verbally and physically attack protesters they deem "leftists". Nowadays, he also joins Ben Gvir on some official ministerial tours, accompanied by the police, such as a recent Ben Gvir visit to southern Tel Aviv, aimed at intimidating African asylum seekers. On September 1, a protest organized by Hadash Party was supposed to take place in central Tel Aviv. The demo was in support of international recognition of a Palestinian state, and was meant to include the waving of Palestinian flags. The protest was coordinated and approved by the police, perhaps even including the waving of flags. Before the protest even really began, it was attacked by Mordechai David's crew, and the police ordered the protesters to disperse. In this video, David brags openly about how he came with about 50 people, some of whom were paid by him with money he crowd-sourced through TikTok, in order to thwart the demonstration. He talks about how the police came to him later and thanked him for giving them an excuse to break up the protest. But the craziest part is that he proudly states that his group of thugs actually chased the protesters for kilometers, and police had to help the "leftists" escape via unusual routes, between buildings, so they wouldn't be attacked by David and his fellow Ben Gvir Brown Shirts - or, as they are nicknamed, "The Ben Gvirists".

🚨#BreakingNews Thurston County judge blocks law allowing state commission to decertify elected sheriffs Judge Christine Schaller halted portions of Senate Bill 5974, signed by Gov. Bob Ferguson on April 1, one day before it was set to take effect. The measure would have required sheriffs and other law enforcement leaders to maintain certification with the Criminal Justice Training Commission, with decertification automatically creating a vacancy in elected office. 🟦 JUDGE CHRISTINE SCHALLER: "The statute allows an elected sheriff to have their peace officer certificate revoked by an administrative body based upon unconstitutional language. Such a revocation under the new law would result in a vacancy of the office of sheriff with the sheriff being removed. This also allows, again, an elected official, someone chosen by the voters, to be removed in the same way as an employee of theirs, another peace officer employee, could be removed. "And again, although a sheriff could seek judicial review, that would be after a decision was made by an administrative body and the vacancy and removal would be immediate. And the decision to revoke an elected official certificate would not be by someone in an elected and or public office, which is contrary to how removal of elected officials is treated by the constitution and, as far as the court is aware, for every other elected official in the state of Washington. " This process authorizes arbitrary and discriminatory enforcement. I find that the plaintiffs have a well-grounded fear of imminent invasion of their rights based upon what they have set forth in their statements and based upon my finding as it relates to number one, because the law is set to go into effect tomorrow. "And I find that the acts complained of are either resulting in or will result in actual and substantial injury. It impacts current sheriffs, the four, who have indicated they are seeking re-election. It affects their ability to fill out a declaration of candidacy form to declare themselves as candidates for the next election cycle. "Those three factors are also considered in light of the equitable factors, including balancing the relative interests of the parties and the interests of the public. The state has properly argued that this is a law that was passed by the Washington State Legislature. The legislators are elected by the people of the State of Washington and it should be given its due weight. And I have done that. "I also have considered the interest of the public in the right to allow a free elective process as well. And the public has a significant interest in the right to a free elective process, the freedom to choose candidates, and the freedom for candidates to set forth that they want to run for political office. "Accordingly, I find that those equitable interests weigh in favor of the plaintiff, and I will grant the preliminary injunction." 👇FULL VIDEO: 🎬 Dana Cruz, Puget Sound Patriots
