Interesting conversation with @zoecabina but, IMHO: This isn't the right way to contest the stupidity of immigration restrictionists who (unfortunately, I think) undermine their argument. The correct way is to observe the scale (there will be no demographic dispossession of Americans by immigration from India, and so the least rational, emotional fears about nationhood are moot) and to simply end H-1B abuses, which probably has likely reduced the quality of eventual immigrants (it's not an immigration visa) from India while also making them 'too numerous' to be selected on quality. That is it's all well and good to decry the lump of labor fallacy, in the grand aggregate, but in particular, it is actually wrong and silly to hire foreigners for unremarkable skill requirement, but foundational, essentially preparatory, jobs in white collar fields just because they are more available and cheaper - one might as well then displace American graduates from their limited colleges slots themselves, and then furthermore their own country, which is actually the injury that people feel and then get angry about.

Upper-caste Indians in a position of power at US companies will act as gatekeepers to block Americans and hire only fellow Indians. An example would be the Cognizant discrimination case, which the company lost. They deliberately discriminated against 2000 non Indians, mostly Americans. Besides cold, hard data, this aligns with the hermetic mindset of Indian culture. They ruthlessly promote their own to the exclusion of everyone else- even Americans in America! The H1B's purpose was to find TEMPORARY positions for jobs where there were no US candidates. Explicit promises were made to protect American jobs. Both have been willfully ignored. In its present incarnation, the H1B serves 2 purposes: Cheap globalist labor Chance for upper-caste Indians to ruthlessly promote their ingroup The Indian H1B issue, both in India and the US is rife with corruption, fraud, bribes, kickbacks, benching, ingroup manipulation, fake credentials, cronyism and nepotism.
