Here goes Bernie Sanders again… Telling America that Black people can’t get a photo ID to vote. Think about how insulting that is. We’re expected to believe that Black Americans can serve in the military, run businesses, earn college degrees, buy homes, board airplanes, cash checks, open bank accounts, and raise families… …but somehow we’re incapable of getting a government-issued ID? The SAVE America Act is about one thing: protecting the integrity of our elections. In Texas alone, thousands of non-citizens have been removed from voter rolls. In close elections, that can absolutely matter. Every illegal vote cancels out the vote of a legal citizen. And spare me the argument that requiring ID is somehow discriminatory. I’m Black. I’m a veteran. I have 6 forms of government-issued ID. The idea that Black and Hispanic Americans are somehow incapable of obtaining an ID is one of the most insulting forms of political condescension in modern politics. Every American, regardless of race, religion, color, or creed, is capable of meeting the basic requirements to vote. The SAVE America Act doesn’t suppress votes. It PROTECTS votes. And the Senate should put it to a VOTE.

Yet the facts tell a different story. Polling consistently shows that 82% of Hispanic Americans and 76% of Black Americans support requiring identification to vote. That is not oppression. It is not racism. It is a common-sense standard that applies equally to every American citizen, regardless of race or background. This is not a civil rights issue. It’s NOT Jim Crow. It is Democrat political theater.

My father grew up in the segregated South. He had to walk around to the BACK of a restaurant just to order a sandwich because he was black. THAT was Jim Crow. Not showing a photo ID to vote. You need an ID to: • Board a plane • Cash a check • Buy alcohol • Enter federal buildings But suddenly showing an ID to vote is “racist”? Give me a break. This is not civil rights. This is political theater. The Democrat Party survives by manufacturing grievance because they have nothing else to run on.
