Usually I don’t speak on political issues often however Charlie Kirk’s death (RIP) hits a little too close to home. Perhaps it is because anyone who has some resemblance of a following who is outspoken against any narrative online has probably received some sort of threat in their inbox. (I know I have) It is baffling to me that one could harbour such a large amount of hate inside of them to want to have another silenced for having differing opinions than their own. I think about all my outspoken friends who are in positions faced to the public and of course myself and what this potentially means for all of us. This of course, would never stop me from speaking out to what’s right, so perhaps that is also why I wanted to make a comment. To me it is disgusting behaviour to mock/be happy about the death of people you disagree with that have done nothing wrong. I think about all my friends, family who could be wrongfully persecuted based off the delusions of perceived “sides”. The amount of hate manufactured and projected onto you for just living your life and not complying to a certain ideal is insane. I don’t like fear mongering but I also think it’s important to stay vigilant to what’s going on around you. It is a very real reality that there are people out there that hate you just for simply being you and what you represent to them. We’ve seen evidence of this twice this week and I suspect more to come unfortunately. I am always hopeful so I will leave this message on a positive note, that just as much hate has also been met with just as much love. There are many amazing kind hearted people out there standing up for what’s right and building community, coming together. Even if they are moving in silence behind the scenes or in front stage, I see you and I honour your work.

Her name is Morgan Osman. Was she justified or not? There was another airline incident that is going viral on social media. This time it was a woman who got into an argument with some other passengers an airplane. When she sees a man recording her, she immediately tells him that she’s famous on social media. It turns out that this woman is Morgan Osman, and she’s actually right. She has close to 1 million social media followers. She a Designer out of Miami and LA. A lot of times videos don’t tell the entire story. We don’t know all of the facts of what took place, and we also don’t know what this woman was going through mentally or emotionally. People on social media are so quick to jump to conclusions, and very reluctant to open their minds to the fact that we might be missing a perspective. What do you think? I’m simply asking you to replace these Muslim people with a European Christian in your imagination and imagine a Christian being told by a Muslim: “Why have you come to England, a Christian country?” If that had happened, the entire global media would be condemning it right now. They would be interviewing the Muslim man’s family. The Pope and senior bishops would be issuing statements of condemnation. There would be no hesitation in calling it out for what it is. Yet this is one of the most blatantly racist videos circulating and because the man being targeted is called Tommy, there is silence. This double standard is shameful. Media outlets that are too cowardly to tell the truth for fear of losing credibility should remember this: one day, the same intolerance will turn on them and when it does, there will be no one left to defend them.

As someone who is pretty up to date in AI I’d say there are 2 times a year where I am genuinely blown away by something. A breakthrough that keeps me up at night. This is one of them. I mean the video of will smith genuinely freaks me out by how good it is. 2.5 years of AI progress and you think it’s hitting a wall. There’s no point in trying to convince people where this is going. The writing is on the wall. I can bring a horse to water but I can’t force him to drink.
