American Eagle CRJ-900 had to be evacuated at Augusta Regional Airport on Tuesday morning after smoke entered the cabin while taxiing to the gate. “American Eagle flight 5406, operated by PSA Airlines, with service from Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) to Augusta Regional Airport (AGS), experienced a maintenance issue after landing safely in Augusta. All passengers deplaned and were escorted to the airport terminal. The safety of our customers is our top priority, and we apologize for the inconvenience,” a spokesperson for American Airlines said in a statement.

CLT Airport has been recognized among the 40 airports for reducing flight schedules; however, we have not been notified of any reductions at CLT at this time. Our airline partners, including American, will determine and communicate any schedule changes directly to customers. CLT remains in close communication with our federal and airline partners to stay informed and responsive as needed. There are currently no significant impacts to airport operations. Passengers should check flight status with their airline and plan to arrive in the terminal two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights. DGCA, do you have the courage to hold SpiceJet accountable? We’ve been stranded since 9:00 AM, and now we’re told an engineer will only arrive at 3:00 PM to inspect the aircraft because of a so-called technical issue. Yesterday’s flight was cancelled. Flights have reportedly been getting cancelled from 5 days, and even today there’s no certainty. Is this what you call aviation safety and passenger service? Are we idiots standing here for hours with no information, no accountability, and no respect for our time? If an airline can’t operate safely or on time, why is it still being allowed to sell tickets? DGCA, stop looking the other way. Do your job and take strict action against SpiceJet. EI-XLT, an Aer Lingus A321xlr which suffered extensive landing gear damage in mid December from a hard landing at Dublin Airport (attached below) has been given the all clear to re-enter service! A former colleague who actually afforded flight tickets had to go by road cuz the airline cancelled his flight and he had work emergency to tend to. The guy and the cab driver are dead as we speak. I also had my flight cancelled three fucking times from Benin to Abuja, then I decided to risk it and use an airport taxi from Benin airport to Abuja by road after the third time.. Airlines don’t specify whether a flight is delayed, cancelled, or still uncertain. And if a flight is cancelled, retrieving your luggage is a nightmare. Horrendous. Heartbreaking news from Amsterdam. Is this what we have become? Modern day pogrom as we are remembering Kristallnacht. I am in Texas and it is middle of the night here as I write. Friends from Europe are texting and calling me about the horrendous situation in Amsterdam. In the night of November 7 in Amsterdam there were widespread and terrible raids on Jewish people. After the soccer game Ajax-Maccabi Tel Aviv, large groups of radical moslims violently attacked Jews, injured them, ran over them with cars… 💔 How is this possible? Why did it take the police so long to get there ? Even on European soil we fail to protect human dignity. Is this what we have become ? It's just terrible! Revolting! Imagine you are Jewish. And you know this: as soon as you walk out of your house to go running, go grocery shopping, go to school or to the synagogue, this can happen to you. How would you feel? I spoke about this situation of terrible discriminations this week in parliament. Worrying about antisemitism is not an exaggeration. Fighting it is our responsibility. The Dutch local government has failed. My thoughts are with the victims. I am furious with the Dutch local government. This is what we have become. Because we have forgotten that this violence is still possible if we are not honest, vigilant and decisive. If people who live in Europe are capable of this horrible attacks, it says a lot about how europe failed to impose its values even on its own soil. And there are still people who will think speaking of hatred against jewish people is an exaggeration. It is not. This is the week of the Kristallnacht commemorations. Flight path (so far) of our longest balloon flight. Over 11 months and counting. This vehicle now holds the record for the longest flying controllable vehicle in the atmosphere in human history. Also this wasn't really intentional. We pushed a design change that prevented leaks in our apex vent, and shortly after that we had a pristine balloon with no leaks and we happened to keep it in endurance stratospheric mode for awhile. It was using so little ballast that we just decide to leave it be. In a year or two from now we'll probably have hundreds of flights up there like this.

Time for a SERIOUS QUESTION… WHY is Xi, who is General Secretary of the COMMUNIST PARTY OF CHINA (CCP) on American soil meeting with Biden to begin with a year out from 2024 Election with whispers of Newsom running??? And, WHY are our soldiers holding a COMMUNIST FLAG welcoming him?!?! It does NOT require a Rocket Scientist to figure out what is being planned here… We are NOT dumb. As a VERY concerned American citizen and Veteran, I have a BIG problem with this… You ABSOLUTELY should too!

Since we're talking airports: I'm Portuguese, and Lisbon's airport immigration is genuinely one of the worst first impressions of any country I know. Two to four hour queues stretching across the entire terminal. People missing flights. Fights breaking out. Exhausted travelers off long-haul flights standing for hours with no water. This is what greets every tourist and foreign investor Portugal spends millions trying to attract. It's a solved problem. For example - Korea lets me in within 30 seconds with a pre-registration and a passport scan, and I'm not even a citizen. Lisbon could copy it tomorrow. First impressions of a country shouldn't be a three-hour line.
