Nick Castle on his inspirations for 'The Last Starfighter' (1984): "When you have that premise of a boy who goes into space and becomes a hero, you run into Steven Spielberg & George Lucas almost at every turn. One of my early ideas was to set it in a trailer park, to isolate the main character to make his life more difficult than if he was in the suburbs. There was a kind of Capraesque feel to what I was thinking about and I drew on those old '40s films with endearing characters going through a trial." I've included two videos of the car running into me... one inside the car and one outside. With the FSD 14 light reversing issues I was curious if it would stop for a person m, especially a child so I ran a couple tests. When I was standing straight up, the car, wouldn't continue to move backwards, but when I crouch down so I was the height of a kid or a pet it ran into me. I even tried walking at first and then crouching down and when I was walking it showed red on the screen so it knew I was there, but then the red went away when I stopped and crouched down. I was thinking if it saw me walking, there would be object permanence and it would stop.
