I actually like the Disney movie. The vine swinging, tree stuff was DOPE, and they VERGED on edgy with the leopard. But… • A musical? • Tarzan speaks MULTIPLE languages before they even find him and learns them flawlessly in weeks. • He is honorable but also a stone killer.

The film wasn't even accurate to that book story, it took different pieces from multiple books and mashed them together into some Frankenstein creation.. and yes, I finished all 20 books...

I've read the Aubrey-Maturin books six times, and I've been saying this for years. What a Masterpiece Theatre series this would make.

I’ve said for years if I won the lottery there would be signs. Namely, HBO series of all the Aubrey and Maturin books. Also remaking count of Monte cristo, because all those movies have sucked.

That was a great film. The ending also set the scene for a sequel. They didn’t need to make 5-6 more films, but one sequel would have been awesome. Aubry was tricked by that French captain in the end who was pretending to be the surgeon.

Totally agree, especially when Master and Commander was done so well. Ditto for Horatio Hornblower: both the Gregory Peck movie and Ioan Grufford miniseries left so much material still to be produced.
