Democracy is never of a kind where the same party will ever come to power. We have seen in our lifetimes, the change takes place at state level, at panchayat level, at municipal level, that's a democratic process. But one thing is for sure, there has to be continuity of development, continuity of our civilisational ethos, and that comes only from one aspect. We must respect democratic culture. India is perhaps the only country in the world that has constitutionally structured democracy at all levels. Before 30 years, we had constitutional democracy only in the State legislature and Parliament. But now we have constitutional democracy at the village level, at panchayat level, and the district level. #RajyaSabha

Michael Clarke: In reality, what I think we're seeing in Ukraine is a messy democracy. The fact that people on the streets are telling the government what they really think, and the government has no alternative but to do it. That's an exercise in direct democracy. It's messy, it may not work out all that well, but Ukraine is working its way, stumbling its way towards a modern, capitalist, free-trading, liberal democracy. The sort that we've become used to in Western Europe. We take it for granted that we are all these things. Ukraine is trying to approach that, and it's getting there.

Democrats all over the place recognize the fact that there needs to be somebody capable of stepping up to be a leader. That person has been trying to be Gavin Newsom, who has decided that governing is something else that needs to be just as much, if not more, of a priority than trolling Trump and trying to beat Trump at his own game.
