My first car, bought in 1966, a '61 Starliner 4spd, 390. From a neighbor down the street that got a 'Vette 3 window. Sold it for a '65 Plymouth Belvedere 440 wedge 4 Spd. Boomers invented muscle cars.

My 2nd car was a 69 impala. balanced and blueprinted 327, 40 over with a huge cam. highrise edelbrock with a 750 double pumper. Turbo 400 with a B&m shift kit. Craigets TA's jacked in the back with cadillac electric front seats. lol!😂

My first car at 16 was a 67 GTO, cost me 850 dollars. 4 speed with the 400 ci engine.

I grew up in the best generation. Those were the days. I had 71 mustang with a 350 Cleveland with bald tires and all. That car was fast.

I had the 72' with a blown 302 traction bars slicks and glasspacks, while the early day chads were rolling around in their hondas, I was pulling the lead sled. We needed this trip down memory lane

This is a great reminder of just how neutered the new world has become. I grew up in a world that smelled like exhaust, gunpowder, and southern cooking. I miss it.

I have also. People don’t understand anymore the dedication it takes to to build a motor like that. They don’t understand being proud of what you accomplished. We, in the trades, understand and grasp this more so now than ever.

The sound of that engine gives me chill bumps.

I had a '67 RS/SS 350 Camaro w/built 350 12.5:1 comp, 2.02 angle plug heads, big cam, M22, 12 bolt 4.11s, etc. It was a 400+hp car and sounded badass. Today 400hp is nothing but I don't think it's the same experience. I did all my own mechanical work on that car.
