@jimmycarr Taxation is a neutered and silent form of slavery. If taking 100% of one's fruit of labor is slavery, what % isn't?

Actually do something about modern slavery instead of giving cash to people who've never experienced it, from people who were never involved with it?! Yes. About time someone did. They could start within their own borders, where it is estimated that between 15,000 to 50,000 women and children are forced into sexual slavery EVERY YEAR, and the total number varies wildly because it is so very difficult to research. Also, last year in congress it was made clear that there were, at that time around 85,000 Unaccompanied Children who had come across the Southern border lost by government services, who know many have been sold into said slavery. Now imagine the numbers if you extrapolate that out across the world. An estimated 50 million people were living in modern slavery on any given day in 2021. This is nearly one in every 150 people in the world!

@jimmycarr I'm sick of America being the police for the world and in some cases, the piggy bank.

@KonstantinKisin @jimmycarr His plan would only work if they have slaves and oil.

@jimmycarr Bravo boys. Amazing engagement-bait.

There's already been 60 years of reparations. It's called the welfare state. If for some reason you felt economically held back because of slavery and/or the fatherlessness/divorce epidemic the government has been there to "help". I think I have a better suggestion for a new American purpose. How about reparations for all the wars, coups and famines "we" (our government, not our citizens) caused around the world since WW2. Millions of dead and refugees. We caused slavery in Libya. Something we were actually complicit in in our own generation. I have personally always been antiwar, even though I served 6 years in the Air Force. So my guilt can only be that I didn't do or say enough to stop it. I have no ancestors that I know of that ever owned slaves and many who lived in poorer conditions than slaves did under masters. Some that served on both sides of the War Between the States and in the Revolutionary War. Some that immigrated long after slavery was ended. I do have my own sins to do reparations for. So, to be blunt, I think your idea is a disconnected do-gooder virtue signal.

A big NO. No reparations needed or deserved. The US has engaged in various programs, and those programs have made things worse. Giving lump sums won't make things better or settle the matter. The response will only be "More." Do better today, now. Quit rehashing the past.

@jimmycarr He lost me at the suggestion of reparations. Nob.

@jimmycarr What does he think all of the educational grants, welfare benefits,community programs, NAACP, etc. were for?
