Here's a look behind the scenes of how I used a 3d model, generated from an image, as a "driver" for ai animation. In the near future we'll see more 3d tools that support these types of workflows, with much more emphasis on enhancing user input instead of just letting the ai do everything. I used the 3d model to generate keyframes that I then animated in Luma Dream. By using a 3d model with a diffusion "layer" done with Krea, I got quite high quality frames with a relatively high consistency as well since the AI didn't have to "hallucinate" that much. I upscaled and detailed the frames using Magnific. Using semi-detailed 3d models as drivers for gen ai is very powerful, and it allows us to use models that are sculpted in a more free-flowing type of workflow that doesn't rely so much on high surface detailing or very time-consuming finish, but instead relies more on gestural 3d sculpting. #art #ai

For the longest time, I declined to participate in AI. I created OpenAI essentially as a counterweight to Google because, at the time, they were more or less a monopoly on AI. Then Anthropic spun out of OpenAI. If anything, it seems like my actions have really accelerated AI. I wasn’t aiming to accelerate AI, but creating OpenAI, and then having Anthropic spin out of it, resulted in knock-on effects that accelerated AI, which wasn’t really my intention. My upcoming release of "Cinematic AI" has made me think about how bodies of work are formed. I think some are manifested and some are revealed. I think "Cinematic AI" falls into the latter category. It was not something I had a clear vision for and then created, but it was something that was revealed to me over time. I thought I saw a glimmer of it early on, but only after some time had past, could I see the body of work emerge. With a bit more context and watching great artists and how they work and think, it finally came to me that this series of 15-20 pieces that I had created could be a worthy collection to mint. AI art has been going through so many transformations from the early GAN work to Collaborative AI to now AI being widely accessible through platforms like MidJourney, Stable Diffusion, and many others. But one area that I have seen explode in recent months is cinematic AI. I distinguish this from animated AI, which has been around for a while, but cinematic AI is where the movements created by AI are getting closer to what you'd see in a movie or captured on a video camera. It still has a long way to go but it is getting more real than surreal as the technology develops. And this is where I seem to have found my groove, my home, my little corner in the artistic landscape. After Runway launched their image-to-video tool, it just blew my mind and I went down a deep rabbit hole and have created a new cinematic AI piece almost every other day for the past few months. I initially saw many of these pieces as just experiments, but with some time to reflect, I am seeing them as having the potential of being relevant pieces of artwork to mark this time in the development of AI. In some cases, I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to create a similar piece again, since the tools I use are not in my control, but in the control of the AI platforms, who are constantly improving and evolving the tools. Given all of this, there is no better way to mark my place in time than on the blockchain. I truly believe that this body of work has the potential to be an important artifact of this era in AI and AI art. It is always hard to judge ones own work, but what I can do is permanently etch in time on an immutable public database saying that I created this. Only time will tell if the work has any value or is of any significance, but who created it and what was created cannot be disputed. I hope this gives you and especially collectors some perspective on the work I'll be releasing next week. I'm still very early in my artistic journey, but hopefully some of you will see promise in what I'm doing and maybe even put in a early bet on my art practice by bidding on a piece next week. Please stop using AI on tannies pics. They keep voicing out their discomfort about it. 🐰: But we should really tone down using AI. I mean what I’m saying is, if AI is used in a way that helps a lot of people, like supporting certain jobs or meaningful work, then I think that’s really great. 🐰: But honestly, people are making all kinds of things with AI now… it’s getting hard to even tell what’s real and what’s AI anymore. 🐰: At that point, how is it any different from deepfakes? I think we shouldn’t overuse AI like this.

David Friedberg: The AI Jobs Panic Is a Crock of Sh*t Why? The revenue potential outweighs the cost savings by 100x. “There is no job loss with AI. I've said it a thousand times, and I will say it again, and again, and again. What I see on the ground, and what I've seen at dozens of companies, including my company that I run, there are two sides to a business. There is revenue and there’s costs. On the cost side of the equation, AI can be used to reduce humans doing things that cost money, to some extent. The effect there, I would argue, is nominal. The real opportunity with AI is on the revenue side, where suddenly one engineer can do 100x or 1000x what they used to be able to do, meaning you can make more products at your company, whether those are agricultural seed products, or boats and ships, or software for companies, or clothing, or what have you. Because of AI, everyone has the ability to expand their revenue base to create more products, and that is the foundation of good economic prosperity. It is called productivity. We can grow productivity in this country with AI. So where I see AI being used is on the revenue side 100x more than the cost side. And in that equation, people are hiring like crazy. We cannot hire enough people. I just had a review meeting with my product and engineering team two days ago, and they're like, ‘We want to add an extra 15 headcount to our engineering squads because we have all this opportunity to do stuff that we couldn't otherwise do.’ So we are going to hire more people. And to Sacks' point, we are seeing that show up in the jobs numbers. The idea that AI is going to destroy jobs is a Luddite idea that is being disproven every single day, and I see it on the ground. It is only a matter of time before people wake up to this and they realize that this narrative that they've all been sold is a crock of sh*t.”

The real opportunity with AI is on the revenue side, where suddenly one engineer can do 100x or 1000x what they used to be able to do, meaning you can make more products at your company, whether those are agricultural seed products, or boats and ships, or software for companies, or clothing, or what have you. Because of AI, everyone has the ability to expand their revenue base to create more products, and that is the foundation of good economic prosperity. It is called productivity. We can grow productivity in this country with AI. So where I see AI being used is on the revenue side 100x more than the cost side. And in that equation, people are hiring like crazy. We cannot hire enough people. I just had a review meeting with my product and engineering team two days ago, and they're like, ‘We want to add an extra 15 headcount to our engineering squads because we have all this opportunity to do stuff that we couldn't otherwise do.’ So we are going to hire more people. And to Sacks' point, we are seeing that show up in the jobs numbers. The idea that AI is going to destroy jobs is a Luddite idea that is being disproven every single day, and I see it on the ground. It is only a matter of time before people wake up to this and they realize that this narrative that they've all been sold is a crock of sh*t.”
