There's a GitHub tool that lets AI agents edit videos like a professional editor. Color grading, trimming, transitions, subtitles, animation overlays all of it. Give the repo to Claude Code and it starts editing in real time. Free. Local. No API keys. One prompt to set up. Video editors... show more

thanks for the shoutout, the tool is actually a fork of browseruse’s video use. I replace the eleven call function which is paid with other Free Software that would deliver the same results.

@RoundtableSpace wow, that's like having an editor in your pocket. gonna save me hours on my next project.

AI agents are becoming the new creative workforce editing, coding, and designing at machine speed.

video editing is changing fast, this is wild :D

That's interesting

Full video editing with color grading and transitions handled locally with no API keys is a big deal.

This is wild! Seeing AI agents handle complex video tasks points to a future where real-time collaboration with custom agents is key. Makes me think of building a GroupGPT room for editing crews.

this freecut repo maps well to our skill attestation flow. One prompt sets up verifiable edit behavior history on chain.

The "video editors are cooked" take ignores that prompting for a cohesive cut with consistent pacing and emotional arc is a completely different skill than knowing which ffmpeg flag to use. The tool handles execution. The craft is still human.

Video editors just got automated; feeding raw clips to Claude via this tool delivers pro-grade results faster than any human.

Wait, I'll go

能粗剪很爽,细节还是得人盯着

Every local video tool I've set up has had a three-line install that turned into two hours of ffmpeg version chasing. 'One prompt to set up' is the most optimistic sentence in the post.

Local editing agents are a big deal if the output is reviewable, but I still want humans on final taste and pacing

本地跑确实省钱,不过 Claude Code 的上下文窗口要是能再大点,处理长视频的逻辑会更稳。

whew

Combining local repos with Claude Code is getting scary efficient. If an open-source tool can handle color grading and overlays this smoothly already, what does the video editing landscape look like in 12 months?

The wild part isn't the color grading or subtitles. It's that it self-evaluates the rendered output at each cut and persists session memory across weeks. That's not a filter tool, that's an editor you don't have to re-brief every Monday. Adobe's moat was always the workflow, not the effects.

This is convenient

🔼 This is not coincidence

this kind of AI editing is gonna disrupt so much of the film industry

Even if this does 20% right i am happy

Thanks for sharing this
