Libertarian: “...we are the Party of freedom...” Freedom isn’t letting borders stay open or foreign economies dominate us. Freedom means safety, economic independence, and national identity. A wall and tariffs are tools to protect that freedom. Libertarian: “...open markets..." Open markets with hostile nations like China? That’s economic suicide. Tariffs protect American workers and prevent foreign exploitation. Free trade isn’t free when it's one-sided and undermines your own people. Libertarian: “...voluntaryism...” Voluntaryism is meaningless if cartels are pouring over the border and flooding streets with fentanyl. We need laws and enforcement to protect voluntary society. Liberty can't exist without order. Libertarian: “...free trade...” Free trade becomes forced dependence when critical supply chains are overseas. Trump’s trade policies rebuilt U.S. industry and reduced reliance on China. That's national security and economic liberty. Libertarian: “...and peace.” Your response: Trump avoided new wars, focused on diplomacy, and de-escalation. Peace through strength and independence, not by gutting borders and industry. Real peace means being strong enough not to be messed with.
